SPRING AND EASTER PROJECTS

Hi, Friends! It's Ro back again to share a couple of projects with you featuring the Spring and Easter Collections at The Robin's Nest. These papers are so much fun to work with. I think you'll like them, too! Links to the supplies used in these projects can be found at the end of this post.

Here is my first project. It's a 3D Box Card. If you've never seen these cards before, they fold flat and fit into an A2 size envelope for easy mailing. I chose to do an Easter box. You can do an internet search for the templates for these boxes. The one I used is from the Silhouette Store.

Aren't these box cards adorable? Here are the cut pieces I started with. You will notice I even cut the layered pieces from white cardstock. I do this so I have better control over the colors and shading on my layers by using my Spectrum Noir alcohol markers.

The assembly is actually quite easy. The striped layers were attached to the base like this:

I then folded the box card and laid it flat to add the bunny paper to the bottom sections.

Once the layers were attached, I simply folded the box and attached the tab with some extra strong tape.

For the inserts (bunny and eggs), I adhered all the layers together and added some bling in form of Stickles, a little marker coloring, and Dew Drops.

The tabs were folded one forward and one back and tape was added. They simply slide into the box and pressed into place. I chose to add the separate egg to the back layer with some foam adhesive. I added a beautiful yellow ribbon from Altered Pages.

I added some vinyl flowers and embellished them with some Dew Drops, and added some Dew Drops to the Easter eggs as well.

I think this turned out super cute and I can't wait to share it with someone in person!

My second project features some beautiful artwork from Altered Pages, along with some beautiful glittery paper from The Robin's Nest.

I cut the picture and sentiment out and mounted them on some slightly larger purple paper. The glittery paper was also mounted and placed on the card base. Look at the amazing texture on that paper!  I added a few Dew Drops for balance and to add a little dazzle.  The inside of the card was made using the same papers with a very simple sentiment.

  10. gorgeous projects! Do those box cards lay flat to go in an envelope? I always love them but they look so complicated.

  11. Yes, Paula, they do fold flat, well, flat-ish, depending on how thick your embellishments are. They collapse down to fit in a standard A2 envelope. Although, I like making my own envelopes to coordinate with my card.
