Hi Friends,
It's Karen and I wanted to share how to quickly transform a cute black cat costume. It could be a Halloween costume but I really just made it for my Niece (age 4) to play dress-up. (I think she has more dress-up costumes than clothes at this point but as her Aunt I can get away with it.) The store bought child's dress was quite plain with only the pink bow and white details on the face. I used fabric paint to color the inner ears, eyes, and mouth. The Black Diamond Dew Drops were just perfect to bring the cat's eyes to life. Finally, I added lots of cute ribbons and trims to jazz up the front of the skirt. (a girl's gotta have a good twirling skirt!)
2. Add, green glitter glue to the eyes. Next, add white glitter glue to the whiskers. Set aside to dry.
3. Apply liquid adhesive to the pupils and add black diamond Dew Drops to them. Place the Dew Drops close together vertically interlocking as shown below.
4. Cut a variety of coordinating lengths (16-20") of ribbons & rick rack. Then use a needle and thread to sew groups of ribbons together. Finally, attach the ribbon cluster to the center of the skirt.
5. Attach velcro to the back waist of the dress. Add the corresponding velcro bits to a large fabric bow.
6. Finally, create the cat's tail by attaching a piece of black feather boa to the back of the dress.
