Hello...MOM?

Hi !

Our inspiration this month was from a quote by Erma Bombeck.
"Being a child at home alone in the summer is a high risk occupation. If you call your mother at work thirteen times an hour, she can hurt you."

I wanted to create a simple piece using the color theme of blues, black, gray and white. The papers I chose for this project were Robin's Nest ®Daisy Admiral and a striped paper from the back of Glitter Water Swirl. I discovered an old phone etiquette note on how to use the phone. I printed off the quote and cut to fit in the space. I used clear stickers with very simple lines and added them to the background. And here are the results.

I really adore this picture!

Thanks for stopping by and happy creating!

Shari

I have been creating art for as long as I can remember. I studied graphic design in Portland,Oregon before moving to Denton, Texas and putting all my focus on mixed media art. In addition to being on The Robin's Nest Design Team, I am an article writer for mixed media art, on the Creative Paperclay Design team, and an Outside Artist and blogger for DecoArt. I strongly believe in giving back. I volunteer at Scrap Denton Creative Reuse Center where I teach workshops, art camps, and perform art demos. I am very passionate about mixed media art and helping others discover their creativity.
