Fall in France

Hello Wednesday!
Robin posting today.

Several years ago when we got off our mission to Africa for 2 years,
we stopped off in Germany to visit Dana's sister and
her husband for a month.  We were exhausted from our work
as Humanitarian Missionaries in Ethiopia.  It was great work, but
by the end of 2 years we needed rest and relaxation!

Each week-end we were in Germany, our brother-in-law Mark
had our weed-ends scheduled with trips all over Europe.

On this particular weekend we traveled to some very quaint and
beautiful towns in France.  It really wasn't even that
long of a drive to get there from Germany.

Here are some grape fields in France, it was the beginning of
November, and we were bundled in coats as we
walked from each of the different stops on the way.

I was just so taken by the beauty of the fields.
I tried to create the leaves on the ground with the dew drops on the
bottom of the page.  I'm not sure it turned out as nice as I imagined,
but it still has the fall feel.

Here is the opposite side to the layout.
just simple really, but I still love the grapes vines
all in yellow, and the beauty of the rows.

Here again in France we are on top of a hill
at a Cathedral that overlooks this town.
The trees were just so beautiful that early morning,
the air so clean and crisp, as it is in fall,
and the orange leaves all over the ground.

Have I ever told you how much I love fall?
I missed it so much in Africa, no fall there,
and no changing of the leaves,  Just dry season and wet
season.  So I always had on my computer screen fall
pictures.  Seems silly, but true.
So to see all of this, the changing of the seasons,
and the orange, yellow, red, and brown leaves on the ground
was so therapeutic for me.  I was in heaven.

Ahhh, the Hedgehog!

One of the first days we were in Germany that year,
Mark asked us if we had ever seen a hedgehog.
Well no, and wasn't sure where they even lived.
But there in Germany, in Stuttgart, they lived in the forests
all around where they lived.

Mark walked his dog every morning and evening, and Cosmo
found a hedgehog for us to see.
Mark caught it and brought it in.
They have the cutest faces!
I'm sure he was scared to death, and so very happy
when he got let go, but I had to take pictures
of this cute little guy!

Just added tear drops on these metal leaves.
