Happy Sunday! Daniella here to share my French Chalkboard Sign with you! I am part of the "Altered Team" for The Robin's Nest and this month we got to enjoy products from our sponsor Walnut Hollow. Walnut Hollow is a company that makes wonderful things with wood. They have so many types of wood and so many products to choose from. Since the theme this month at The Robin's Nest is "Fleur Cardstock, I picked the French Provincial Signboard.
I took out all of my paper to pick which would look best on the signboard. I picked the Honeycomb Fleur Cardstock and used the reverse, Honeycomb Stripe.
I traced the top of the signboard with tracing paper and used it to trace on the paper.
Perfect fit!! Glue the paper to the board with the adhesive of your choice. I used gel medium.
I cut 1.5" strips of the striped cardstock and pleated it every half inch. Using a glue gun, I glued down the end of the first piece and began gathering the paper so it would ruffle. Every few inches I glued it down. This signboard has lots of circular edges and cuts so I had to be careful.
See how I gathered/ruffled the paper? Continue until the whole board is finished.
Looking good! Now it's time to make flower embellishments and the chalkboard center. I used Plum Fleur Cardstock and Tropicana Fleur Cardstock. I also used ribbon, gauze and pearls.
For the Chalkboard center I found a Free Chalkboard Fonts site and downloaded the Chalkboard Script font. I typed the words and printed it out. I LOVE how this came out! The gold, yellow and purple color combo is so pretty!
I hope you enjoyed this as much as I did!! Thanks for visiting and have an AWESOME day!!
