I love pictures of my kids just doing
what they do, not posed or staring at the camera all the time. This is
one of those moments. A sweet little picture of Catherine walking along
gathering little twigs and tree droppings from the ground because her
brothers were doing the same.
I used the wonderful Robin's Nest Papers, Dew drops, an rub-ons for this layout. The pinks in the papers matched her little pink heart
of her shirt, and the browns complemented Catherine's surroundings
perfectly it was almost as those they were meant to be together. I started with the background paper of "Linen Stripe" (the reverse side of the"Vanilla Fleur")
and cut it to an 11 1/2 inch square and layered it on top of an around
the page punch of swirls in pink on top of chocolate cardstock. I then
added in splatters of mists and sprays
I then added in a strip of the beautiful "Gold and Daisy" paper and layered it on top of more brown paper and lots of strips of swirled punched paper and a strip of burlap.
Below the picture I added in tons of layers of papers from the back side of the "Gold and pink Daisy"
paper which is a brown stripe paper as seen above, pink card stick,
brown cardstock, canvas paper, and the back of the packaging of the
rub-ons which had the beautiful light brown cards with the dark brown
swirls on it, I could not resist using them!! Here you can also see one
the "Viva" rub-ons next to the picture. I also tied a double bow with twine and placed it behind the flower trailing down with the crystal swirls.
You can see a bit of the twine, more rub-ons, and now some of the Dew Drops in colors of cherry, clear, and pearl. Sequins are all the rage right now, but the use of them is exactly the same as a Dew Drop, the wonderful splatter of color!!
The
innocence of being young and finding the joy in just strolling along
finding twigs to play with, these are the moments I cherish with my
children!!
