First Dance

Hello, it's Joan with my first post as a Chattering Robin. This month one of the featured paper lines is the Wedding (in love) Collection and that is what I used to make my scrapbook page. I enjoyed working with the beautiful papers, rub-ons, tear drops and dew drops from The Robin's Nest!
This was the perfect paper line for me to use - my daughter got married last year and I love making layouts with her wedding photos. The photo I used today is of Megan and Scott's first dance. It was to the song "Moonlight Serenade", by Glenn Miller, which was in memory of Megan's grandfather.

To make the page, I began by using the Distressed Silver/White Cardstock for my background. I then cut a piece of the Silver on Creme Classic Swirl Glitter Cardstock and layered that over a large white doily. I matted my photo on the Pink Glitter Cardstock, with a rub-on from the Time Flies set added to the bottom of the mat. Another rub-on from the set was added to the bottom right corner of the silver cardstock. The Robin's Nest rub-ons are so easy to use and they look very crisp and clear.
I made a flower using the white teardrops. The first picture below shows how I started my flower, using a gold dew drop for the center. The second picture shows the finished flower in detail.

Next, I die cut a border out of the glitter side of the silver cardstock and added pearl dew drops to the edge. The final touches were the pink heart, "2 become one" vellum piece from the Wedding Words vellum paper, the words from the Wedding Cut-Outs cardstock and three small pink hearts above the vellum words. I used the Dark Vanilla Silver Glitter cardstock to back the whole page.
