How to Embellish Elegant Snowflakes

Happy New Year!  It's Karen and I've brought a fun frosty project showing how to embellish elegant snowflakes.  They are very easy to create and would be a great family projects that the kids could help to make.  Don't forget to share your fabulous creations with us over on The Robin's Nest Facebook Fan Page HERE.

                                        

                                          Sky Dew Drops                             White Pearl Diamond

Directions:

1. Paint the wooden snowflakes by blending lt blue and silver acrylic paint. Paint random strokes. Neatness is not necessary because the color is applied as the 1st layer to accentuate the crackles that will form in the 2nd layer of white paint. 

2. When thoroughly dry, paint the snowflakes with a thick coat of white crackle paint using a tapping method rather than using strokes. Set aside to dry.

3. After the crackles have appeared, apply a thin coat of varnish and set aside to dry. Repeat the process on the back side of the snowflakes.

4. Select a variety of Dew Drops in shades of blue, white, & clear. Plan your symmetrical design and when you are satisfied, adhere the Dew Drops in place.

5. Adhere Dew Drops onto the back side and attach a string for hanging.

Supplies:

Round Dew Drops – clear, lt blue, teal, pearl

Diamond Dew Drops – clear, pearl

Tear Dew Drops - lt blue
