How to Create a Scrapbook Cookbook of Family Favorite Recipes

Hello and welcome - Shelly with you today sharing a another recipe layout for my cookbook of family favorite recipes.

I have been making these easy wontons since a co-worker taught me the recipe/technique back in my 20's (and that's a long time ago!)

I use Dew Drops to tie in the color of my title to the rest of the design.

Let's make it!

Supplies:

  • Diamond Dew Drops - Orange
  • White Bazzill Cardstock (8x8) Base
  • Patterned Paper #1 (4x8) - Paper Cranes/PhotoPlay
  • Patterned Paper #2 (1x8)  - Paper Cranes/PhotoPlay
  • Patterned Paper #3 (fussy cut fish)  - Paper Cranes/PhotoPlay
  • Coordinating Stickers and Die Cuts  - Paper Cranes/PhotoPlay
  • Journaling Card (3-1/2x5)
  • Thickers Alphas - Orange and White
  • Optional:  Machine Stitching

Get the look:

  • Layer your 2 patterned paper strips across bottom of layout base

  • Create journaling card for recipe (I used my phone and the Rhonna Designs app to design and print on cardstock - see detailed instructions here:  Journaling from Your Smart Phone)
  • Layer photo and journaling card on top of your patterned paper strips
  • Add machine or faux stitching around outer edge of layout and around the journaling / photo
  • Embellish with stickers and die cuts
  • Add title - I decided to go with a title color that was not included anywhere else in my layout - adding the Diamond Dew Drops in the same color as the title letters really ties the orange in with my design

Dew Drops are always the perfect finishing touch to give your design that something EXTRA!

Thanks for stopping by the blog today - have a creative week!

Shelly
