Happy New Year from The Robin's Nest!

Hello, everyone! Hope your new year started out with a bang (of the good kind!).  Ro, here, happy as heck to be back on the Design Team for the first half of 2015.

Our theme this month is from a quote by Helen Keller:  The most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched. They must be felt from the heart.

To me, that says "love". So for my very first card project, I chose to create a Valentine Shaker Card. (Supply list at the end of this post)

The Glittered Numbers cardstock was perfect for the sentiment I chose: How Do I Love Thee, Let Me Count The Ways. I created a 5"x5" template so I could determine the best portion of the cardstock to use for the front of the card.

I was able to find a section that gave me a clean space where my sentiment would show perfectly. I used the reverse side of the Wedding Cut-Outs cardstock to cut out a heart with my Silhouette Cameo, and cut another heart using clear acetate. I then cut out my verse in black vinyl.

I assembled the heart by adhering the transparency to the back of the heart shape, and the vinyl on the front.

I selected the Two Lips TearDrops in pink, red and clear, and set them in the center of the card. I added adhesive foam tape to the back of the heart, making sure there were no gaps for the Dew Drops to slip out.

I attached the heart on top of the Dew Drops and card.

For the inside of the card, I cut a pice of the plain Brick Wall cardstock and attached the inside cutout of the heart from the front of the card.  I cut out a section of the Wedding Cut-Outs cardstock (the other side of the script used for the heart), and added that to the inside as well.

I used the plain Brick Wall paper to create a matching envelope and ended up with a lovely Valentine Card.

I hope you enjoyed my tutorial and are inspired to create a beautiful valentine of your own using the fabulous papers from The Robin's Nest.
