Snowman Sleigh Ride

Hi everyone! It is Tonya and I'm here to share this month's project I created for the Robin's Nest using the Winter Collection. I cut a sleigh (Sleigh Favor Box die from Brenda Walton) out of the Winter Retreat Swirl Cardstock and put together according directions. You can find the how to video on YouTube here.

I prepped a 1/2" and 1 1/2" SmoothFoam balls by sanding with a finger nail file, applying gesso and allowed to dry. I painted with an off-white paint, let dry and pounced white paint over the top of the off-white paint. I then cut a 1 1/2" piece of jewelry wire, applied Mod Podge to area that is considered to be the "neck" of the snowman. I stuck one end of the wire in the 1/2"ball and the other into the 1 1/2" ball and held together until the Mod Podge dried. I then painted eyes, mouth and pounced a little paint on for the cheeks, baked a "carrot" nose according to the Sculpey clay direction which only takes a couple of minutes to do. I glued the nose to the snowman and then applied Mod Podge to the whole snowman and then sprinkled with glitter and let dry.

Once the glitter dried I glued the little fellow into the sled. I created a cone shaped hat, added tinsel and a pipe cleaner which I curled to the hat and then adhered to the snowman. Next I cut two small pieces of wire, curled the ends for his hands and then stuck on each side of him. I added two Dew Drops to his front for buttons.

I then added lace, tulle, pearl sprays, a mini bottle brush tree and flowers that I punched and shaped from the Snow Angel Glitter Cardstock which I topped off  each with a Goldenberry Dew Drop.

I added a Winter Snowflake Glitter Chipboard to the front and back of the sleigh and finished off with a button and a Goldenberry Dew Drop.

I finished off both sides of the sleigh with sequins and Beach Dew/Tear Drops and Goldenberry Dew Drops.

There you have my first project and I hope you enjoyed it. Now my second project which is a card. :-)

It has been an amazing journey and I have really surprised myself with the type of projects I have been able to come up with to show case the company's many products they have to offer. The good news is I will be back as a guest designer so be looking for me. :-) 
The card base is a folded 6"x6" piece of Deer Glitter Cardstock and I used an assortment of Silver Glitter Cardstock, Irredescent Classic Glitter Cardstock and a Dew Drop along with using punch, diecut and embossing folder to finish off this card.
