The first step was to paint the box a very dark blue and cut the outside panels from the Admiral Fleur Glitter Linen Cardstock. I cut the panels 1/8 inch smaller than the sides, top and bottom of the box. When the panels were glued onto the box, the missing 1/8 inch allowed the dark blue to work as the border between the panels.
Switching to the Plum Fleur Cardstock, I finished the inside of the box in the same way.
Next I worked on the design details. The focal point of the design was a grouping of two large roses, several rosebuds, leaves and twisted gold wire.
The largest rose was made from Plum Fleur Cardstock and the other rose from Admiral Fleur Glitter Linen Cardstock. The rosebuds were cut from both the Fleur and Stripe sides of the same cardstock. I cut several leaves in various sizes from Olive/Stripe Cardstock.
Using a hand made stencil, I experimented with the placement of a swirl design.
After deciding to use only the larger group of swirls, I lightly drew the design onto the top of the box. I then glued Pearl White Round Dew Drops from the Classified Mini Dew Drops along the curved lines.
The next step was to add a detail to the corners using a Black Dew Drop and three Pearl White Diamond Dew Drops. After twisting the gold wire around a pencil, I added three pieces of the twisted wire to the group of roses.
