Saying Goodbye

Penny here again with my first post for October....

It's always sad when you say goodbye to those special people we meet on our life's journey....

This Friday I say goodbye to a special colleague and friend as she leaves for pastures new. I will be sad to see her go because she's not only become a friend but she's always encouraged me in my creative pursuits....she has always believed in me and has become a fan of my work....

She is a bit of a fashion diva.....and because girls can never have too many handbags or shoes, I decided I would make a 'bag' for the special gift I have bought for her....
I also made a shoe to add chocolates, but that needs a second take...I'm not happy with the way it turned out....

For this bag, I used two 6x6 pieces of chipboard and covered the outsides with the Plum Fleur Cardstock and used the reverse striped side to cover the inside.
I recycled a paper bag that I had received with some shopping items by cutting the top half off and using the bottom as a base for the bag hold. This inner bag was also covered with pieces of the striped side of the Plum Fleur Cardstock.

I cut flowers from the Honeycomb Fleur Cardstock, the Honeycomb Daisy Glitter cardstock and the Cathedral Speciality Paper and glued to the front of bag.

The Sour Apple Glitter Cardstock was used to cut the leaves which were added to the flowers. I finished off the flowers with the gorgeous dew drops and added a metal sentiment to wish her all the best for the future....

I then threaded purple ribbon through punched holes to add handles.

I know that this will bring a smile to her face and hopefully give her something to remember her time working with me.
