Top Hat Centerpiece - The Wedding Collection

When I saw the Wedding Collection paper, which is on sale this month at The Robin's Nest, I immediately thought of a formal wedding, because of the beautiful glitter details and the black and white color scheme. And what's more formal than top hats, tulle and dew drops. I decided to make some mini top hats into a centerpiece that is just the right size to go on your bridal shower, wedding breakfast and reception tables.

I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut the bride's top hat from the Silver on Creme Classic Swirl Glitter Cardstock and assembled the top hat.

I repeated this to make the groom's hat, which I cut from the Dark Vanilla Silver Glitter Cardstock. Then, it was time to make all the embellishments for the top hats.

For the bride's hat, I used my Silhouette again to cut a large rose from the reverse side of the Wedding Cut-Outs Cardstock. I love how the hand script writing on the paper molded into the rose.

Using the same SVG cut file, I die cut two smaller roses from the Dark Vanilla Silver Glitter Cardstock, which I used for the groom's top hat.

I repeated the Silver on Creme Classic Swirl Glitter and Dark Vanilla Silver Glitter Cardstock again in the paper cattail flowers and the bow tie.

Finally, I grabbed a little tulle and added some White Dew Drops.

After tying the tulle around the top hat in a bow, with the ends flowing from the back of the hat, I added some Black Dew Drops in the shape of a flower to the front.

To finish the bride's top hat, I glued the roses and cattail flowers on top of the bow.

For the groom's top hat, which I cut from the Dark Vanilla Silver Glitter Cardstock, I added a band cut from the Silver on Creme Classic Swirl Glitter Cardstock.

I omitted the roses and fussy cut a group of word sentiments from the Wedding Cut-Outs Cardstock in the shape of a tag and tucked it into the band, along with a fussy cut filigree from the Time Flies Rub-on. To finish the groom's hat, I added some cattails and the bow tie.

Going back to my Silhouette again, I cut a hat stand and base for the centerpiece from the reverse side of the Dark Vanilla Silver Glitter Cardstock, which is black with a touch of glitter.

I covered the top of the base with the lovely script paper (reverse of Wedding Cut-Outs Cardstock).

The bride's top hat goes on the hat stand, with the tulle flowing over the base and the groom's top hat is off to the side.
