Hooked

Hi Everyone,

Sometimes I wake up to find that my husband is gone...

Yes, folks.....it's summer!
And for my husband it is an extra special and a long awaited pleasure...especially after the long, dreary winters....a time for waking up at the crack of dawn and heading off to his favourite spot, spending hours on end doing what he loves best...fishing...

For me it means that when the weather is good....he's out...and most times I find myself being a fishing widow....that's how hooked he is on fishing....
Now don't get me wrong....I'm not complaining, because it then means I have more time on my hands to do what I love....create....love it...

When I'm not creating, I usually join him on his little adventures and play photographer for the day...I cannot even begin to tell you how many fishing photos I possess....

This month we are working with The Robin's Nest Lodge Collection and when I saw the papers in this collection, I immediately thought about preserving some of those fishy tales, even though masculine designs are not my forte.

At the start, I laid all the papers in front of me.
The  quality and textures of the papers are excellent and great to work with and I found it quite challenging to decide what to use....I didn't want to cut any of the papers....they are all so good!

Eventually, I finally made my choice and came up with this double page layout.....

I used the striped side of the Red Plain Linen Cardstock as my base. This paper is striped on one side and checkered on the other. I used embossing paste through a wood grain stencil to add some texture to the background and splashed on some distress stain.

For the first page, I combined two photos to make one larger piece and matted all the photos used with the Moss Green Glitter cardstock and the Wrap Glitter Cardstock

used the reverse side of the Forest Trees Speciality Paper  to cut some strips for some added layers and to create an envelope and added some of the images from the Lodge CutOuts cardstock.
The Wrap Glitter Cardstock was used to die cut the title and cut into strips to create swags.

I love the versatility of the Lodge CutOuts cardstock, it can be used for a number of things. I chose some elements from the page and used as embellishments. The Outdoors Sticker sheet, the Lodge Die-Cut pack and the lovely fishing rub-ons fit perfectly with my theme and provided some beautiful accents for my pages.

I fussy cut some photos of fish to create additional embellishments and added his lucky hook for effect.

Thanks for stopping by and remember that you can get this lovely collection at The Robin's Nest so please be sure to stop by!

Take Care
Penny
