Artsy Stuff Folio ~ Part 1

Hi everyone! It's me, Tonya and I'm here to share this month's project for the Robin's Nest using the Paris Collection which is 20% off this month.
I had seen a video of the Tim Holtz folio a few weeks ago and thought, "Hey! I can create my own!" So this is what I came up with.

First off I cut down two file folders as seen below.

Next I painted the "folds"on both sides of the file folders and once dry I adhered the 5" sides on top of each other. Also I rounded the edges of the flaps.

Next I measured from the "folds" and I cut two 4 1/2"x4" pieces, painted the "folds" and adhered to the back side of the folio.

Next cut all three pages 5 1/2"x 10 1/2" from a file folder and fold each page as follows:
Fold  1" in to give a 4 1/2"x10 1/2" page
Fold 1 1/2" in to give a 4"x10 1/2" page
Fold  2" in to give a 3 1/2"x10 1/2" page
Round all corners with a corner punch. Next I used my bottle cap punch to punch holes down the fold every  2". I used baker's twine to sew together all three pages together. I tied it off with a nice little bow. :-)

Inside view.

Be sure to get a good fold (where the pages are laying flat) this will create a "water-fall" effect in the folio.

I cut the various cardstock from the Paris Collection to fit the front side of each page in my folio. I cut the pages slightly smaller and rounded the edges. Also I adhered the back page to the inside of the folio. You could leave the top or side open so you could add a pull out tag but for this time around I didn't want to do that. :-)

The "Life You've Imaged" is a tag I received in a swap that used to create a flap.

The completed blank inside of my folio.

The cover I decorated with dew drops, scraps of cardstock, ribbon, lace, sequins, paper flowers, chipboard from Gina's Designs. The metal closure handle is from Paper Studios. I plan on creating a bigger version since I now know what I'm doing…lol :-)
