Next month School gets out and I wanted to have something that was attractive yet practical and ready to hold movie tickets, sea shells and other bits of this summers memories.
I created the above keepsake box from a deep cigar box. Most cigar shops will sell the empty boxes to you for a couple of dollars. I prepped the box by peeling off any loose stickers.
Then I played around with the following Robins Nest "Beach Collection" to create this one-of-kind treasure box.
-Aquamarine Sorbet, Blue Raspberry Sorbet, Calamity Jane Stripe, Pink Glitter Coral, Seashore Glittered, Water Glitter Swirl.
- Beach Rub-Ons, Beach stickers, Water stickers.
- Mini Pearl Drops, Gold Metallic Dew Drops.
I also used Blue Inka mousse, wrapping cellophane, gold wire trim, glitter glue, clear tape, lace, and a Journal tag.
I used the blue mousse to cover part of the box that could not be covered with paper.
The hinge of the box was thin paper. So I reinforced both inside and outside with the clear tape.
For the inside of the box, I folded my paper in half and glued the crease perfectly in the corners of the box for a clean finish.
I covered gaps in the paper with sea shells- rubbed onto onto scraps of paper.
I love how the compass makes this box the perfect travel accessory!
I plan to take this box with us on our few trips this summer, so we will have a sturdy place to hold our summer memories.
What would you put in a box like this?
