A Lovely Ballerina Hand Mirror

One of my favorite things to do when I browse the isles of the dollar store is to find things to alter.
So when I saw a plain purple hand mirror, I knew just what it needed, some girly frills!
I hope you enjoy this as much I enjoyed making it!

The first thing you will need is a plain hand mirror. Clean and dry both sides with some glass cleaner.

Then gather your supplies. For this project, I used:
Spring Stripe Glitter Cardstock- on Sale this month!
A flourish Sticker from the Spring Sticker Sheet - on Sale this month!
Purple Diamonds Dew Drops
Metallic Pink Dew Drops
Vintage ballerina clip art from Altered Pages
Pink Tulle, decorative ribbon and a butterfly.
Scissors, pencil, strong double stick tape, tacky glue, e6000, foam tape and scrap cardstock.

I traced the mirror onto the paper with a pencil and cut out.
Then I covered the back side with the double stick tape and placed on the back of the hand mirror, pressing firmly.
I trimmed the clip art to size and traced onto the scrap paper. I cut this out larger than the actual trace.
I placed a few thin strips of the double stick tape to the scrap paper as shown and began placing the ribbon. When done, I added foam tape to the center and then the ballerina image. The foam tape keeps the image from having a sunken look.

I glued the metallic pink dew drops to the outline of the mirror and tied my tulle in a pretty bow.

On the back side of the mirror, I first placed the flourish sticker at the top and then glued the purple diamond dew drops to the edge of the striped paper. Next, I added the ballerina piece.
The butterfly was added with e6000.
Let everything set completely for a hour or two before using.
Thanks for coming by, I hope you liked my craft!
