A RED & BLACK CHRISTMAS SCENE!

One of my favorite things to alter are cigar boxes!!!  I frequent my local cigar shops looking for them.  Years ago I could get them for free, now I have to pay anywhere from two to five dollars a box depending on the quality! Seems silly since they were going to go in the trash!!!!

Supplies:
Cigar box
White Gesso
Purple Cows-Punch-Tonic http://www.purplecows.net/
Figures from the Dollar Store
Stash: Flowers, puff paint (create snow)

The Robin's Nest Snow Covered Glitter Trees cardstock created a wonderful backdrop for my little winter scene.

My cigar box was painted with white gesso then covered with The Robin's Nest cardstock.  The most time consuming part of this project is waiting for paint to dry and measuring all the pieces of paper.  Altering boxes is a fun project. Sort of like the dioramas we made when I was in school.

Be sure to check out the
 papers and embellishments

  2. Adorable Lyneen!!! Have you check at the gas stations to see if they will give you empty cigar boxes? I have scored several that way. Thanks for the inspiration!!!
