Less is MORE

Warm hello to everyone out there! Genevive checking in from the sunny Singapore :) I just turned 39 yesterday and although it's a different day already, I still feel the birthday vibe... and these cards I'm going to share with you speak volumes of how I want to do right this moment..  feeling so blessed so I want to give everyone  some BIG BIG HUGS!

When I got these Classic Glitter Swirls papers to be featured for August, I knew right away that I had to make them the star of my project (sorry dewdrops, you have always been my favourite but for now, it's the glitter paper's time to shine!) and what better way to make it be the center of attention than by using no other supplies but just these...

I challenged myself to create something FUN and SIMPLE out of these otherwise very formal and elegant papers... so I thought of doing this...

  1. I made a white card base.
  2. I cut the words "hugs" using Sizzix die.
  3. Adhered these cut outs to a white card base.
  4. Poked holes for stitching.
  5. Did a simple back stitching while wathing TV, video, while skyping with family back home in the Philippines. I tell you, it's really very therapeutic and calming :)
All done! That's why my title says less is more... less because it is minimally decorated but more because if someone would make me this kind of card, I would appreciate it with all my heart knowing how much time was spent in making it...

The last card is my favourite of all. Look how beautiful and abstract the swirls have become.... and in the actual card, the glitters really look so beautiful! Please note that the papers I used are ON SALE at 20% off now.. Go grab them!

Hope you like my simple offering this month :) See you again next time :)

Love,
Genevive
