Creating with a Mood Board

Hey there my scrappy friends! This is my last post for this term. But I hope we will still see each other again *wink* Today I will share with you my thought process on how I created five greeting cards using a mood board I  made from my pinned cards at Pinterest as my inspiration. Are you Pinterest-ing? Let's follow each other! Go click HERE for my boards =)

Okay let's get going...  here are the 5 cards that inspired me  (I made the collage using Picasa). Credits to the talented cardmakers who own this images. Thank you for inspiring many including me!

And these are my versions, showcasing the DIAMOND dewdrops ... keep reading to know how each card inspired me and how I created my own...

Card 1. I love the layers and textures of many different papers and elements in the card so I gathered Robin's Nest papers and just a little bit from my stash, added a manila tag, glued everything together. I then finished it off with the gorgeous Indigo diamonds, a wooden peg,  tied it with a twine and splattered some white paint on it!

Card 2. I saw that this card is an excellent way to use my washi tapes and it is so easy to make, making it the fastest to finish among these five haha. I just gathered  and layered the orange colored tapes I have, to give the Amber diamond dewdrops a good contrast, added a punched border strip at the bottom, a twine and that's it!

Card 3. I love the use of the heart negative in the 3rd card. I hand-cut the card's front, adhered a stripey Robin's Nest paper behind it, machine stitched around the heart, added washi tapes and alphabets and embellished it with Ruby diamonds.. Love how it turned out! :)

Card 4. I know this doesn't look like the 4th card. This shows that sometimes, an inspiration will just get us started and in the process, something different comes up! Like in this case, I initially planned to arrange the stars (Sizzix) like how the hearts were arranged in the mood board, but I didn't like it that much so I just layered the stars! Again, used washi tape as border and accents, added the alphabets, tag and paper clip and and the star embellishment: Lavender Orchid diamonds!

Card 5. The butterflies lined up so nicely caught my eye.. and I thought instead of butterflies, I can use  border stamp  and line up a mix of diamond dewdrops over it! Other elements include the postage stamp die-cut (Sizzix), washi tapes, alphabets and just  little bit of machine stitching.

So there. My five cards using a mood board + Diamond dewdrops (ON SALE NOW!!! GRAB THEM FAST!!!) And don't forget to go pin those drool-worthy crafts from Pinterest for inspiration and when you do,  make sure to link up your source! Have a great new week!

Love,
