Flaming Hot Bookmarks!

For the last day of School, (June 11th) Dyllan and I always put together something for his classmates...stickers, pencils, a small toy...this year however, I thought to save the money and make  "Flaming Hot Bookmark"!
We used Mango Flame Thermal Icing and Clouds from The Robins Nest.
We cut out a basic surfboard shape and traced it onto the back side of the flame paper with a pencil, keeping the surfboards close to maximize as much of the paper as possible.

Then we cut out the surfboards.
I helped cut the bookmarks from the cloud card stock with my paper trimmer.
A easy way to determine the length of the coordinating ribbon is to measure it along the height of the bookmark.
Use your favorite adhesive to attach the surfboard, then punch a hole for the ribbon.
Let your kids do this part, getting the ribbon through the small hole acts almost like a puzzle which all kids love.
I pre-printed the saying onto printer paper, "Have a Great Summer!" From your friend:

I cut out and glued to the back of the bookmark, leaving room for Dyllan to hand write his name.
We are about half way through making these. 32 for his class and I figure another 10 for other friends.
What fun crafts are you and your kids making for the last day of school?
