How to Embellish Wooden Die Cuts with Dew Drops

Hello Crafty Friends,
It's Karen here share a layout of my daring nephew. I must confess I find it a bit challenging to create little boy themed layouts because I can't use my favorite colors or items like flowers and butterflies. I wanted something extra special for my little nephew's layout. When I browsed through my wooden shapes, the transportation items caught my eye.  I do like the look of the natural raw wood so I didn't paint them but something was still missing. Instead I added a pair of Dew Drops to each car to create realistic headlights or tail lights. Dew Drops are the perfect finishing touch to give your projects the "Wow" factor especially when a rhinestone or glitter is just too feminine. Let's get going and I'll tell you all about it!

Royal Blue Dew Drops

1. Fussy cut some patterned paper with a hexagon design. Adhere a strip vertically along the right side of the background.

2. Matte the main photo. Arrange five photos and adhere them to the layout.

3. Cut additional hexagons from the pattern paper and use them to embellish the layout. To add depth, attach some over the photos and some behind. Use foam tape for added dimension. Add a strip of red washi tape to the right edge.  Apply it half way over the edge and fold it over to the back side.

4. Embellish the wooden die cuts with Dew Drops. Adhere Dew Drops to the small wooden cars with liquid adhesive.  Create the tail lights with red and the headlights with yellow.

5. Add some small sticker embellishments to compliment the photos.

TIP: I used a tiny image from the thumbnail sheet and inserted the miniature photo behind the car so that it appeared like my nephew was riding in the car.
