Fun and Creative Storage Ideas for Dew Drops

For most people, January is the time to purge, organize and make a fresh start.  And if you are anything like me, your craft room is a constant work in progress when it comes to organization. Today I am sharing some of favorite ways to store, display and transport my collection of Dew Drops.

I keep a footed, pressed glass dessert dish on my craft table filled with a mixture of all colors and varieties of Dew Drops, Mini Dew Drops, Diamond Dew Drops, and Tear Drops.  When one of my containers gets to a just a few Dew Drops left, into the dish they go!

I love having them so easily accessible (I use them on just about everything I make) and it is a colorful inspiration when I am creating.

My favorite storage and transportation solution are these clear plastic pouches- I have them lined up on a shelf - I can see what’s in them and it's so easy to toss the containers into my bag for crops and retreats.

These are Buddy Bags from Totally Tiffany

Rectangle Zippered Pouch from Thirty One

And finally - this beautiful vintage bowl that belonged to my great-grandmother.  I love using vintage dishes in my craft room.  I like to have my supplies out where I can see what I have and be able to easily grab them while I am working. But I also want to fill my space with pretty things that inspire.

Thanks for stopping by the blog today - hope I have given you some fresh ideas for storage.

Hello Lovely- Small Art with Dew Drops

Hello lovely crafters!  Mary here on the Chattering Robins blog with a tutorial on how to create this colorful plaque.

I started with a 4x6 piece of sturdy chipboard, spreading white gesso on it with a used gift card to create texture.

Then, since I love texture so much, I scribbled into the still wet gesso with the other end of a paintbrush.

Since texture is the word of the day, I decided to add drywall tape to the mix after the gesso was dry.  It creates a cool square pattern that will look awesome when paint is added.

I had these cute rubber words, so I glued them onto the drywall tape with sturdy glue.

Since I wanted paint to stick to the slick surface of the words, I painted them with white gesso and let them dry thoroughly.

I sprayed several acrylic art sprays onto the piece, then added some water to spread the paint around.

Gotta love drips of color!

After the spray dried most of the way, I blotted the rest off with a tissue.

The pictures above show me dripping on fluid acrylic paints, blotting the excess paint off the drywall tape and adding back in some white paint onto the drywall tape.  I did dry the paints in between so they didn't blend together to much.

I colored a silver heart with a gold paint pen and colored in the word Love with black acrylic paint.

That gold paint pen made for a wonderful edge.

Running with the gold theme, I splattered gold paint onto the piece with a fan brush.

Finally, I added Sun Shower Dew Drops, to make the piece really pop!

Here are some closeups of this fun project:

Adorable Owl & Heart Balloons Valentines Day Card How To

Hello Creative Friends!
Welcome to the Chattering Robin's blog!

Michelle here today sharing my latest DT project,
an adorable Valentines Day card using a variety of Dew Drops from The Robin's Nest
to embellish the design.

For this project I used:

5x7 Heavy Cardstock-White
Heavy Cardstock in Hot Pink, Light Pink & Red
Red & White Striped Twine
Tweezers or Setting Tool (I use Embellie Gellie from ScraPerfect)
Glue (I use Best glue Ever by ScraPerfect)
Doubleside Foam Tape
Double Sided Tape

From The Robin's Nest:

Red Dew Drops from the Poinsettia Collection

Neon Pink Dew Drops

Petunia Dew Drops

I found the adorable owl in my Cricut Design store, and decided I had to use it in a Valentine Card design. I wanted something with color, but very simple in design.

I chose three shades of colors, light pink, hot pink & red from some scrap cardstock in my stash.

I then set up the owl design to cut on my Cricut Explore Air 2, and began cutting the design.

I also found a template for a heart shaped balloon, and configured it on my design studio, in 3 various sizes, and decided to coordinate with my owl.

Here is the template for the balloons, though I would share with you, so that you may be inspired to create a Valentines card too.
Just copy and paste from here.

Once I had cut the entire design, I assembled the owl using double sided foam tape, to give a layer look. Once assembled, I adhered the owl to the card front using double sided tape.

I also added the twine in various lengths, using the Best Glue Ever.
I added the balloons in staggered & layered formation, adhering with double sided tape.

Once in place, I began adding the color coordinated Dew Drops to each balloon, once again, using Best Glue Ever along with No-Clog Writing Cap for precision, and using the  Embellie Gellie to easily add them into place.

The results, perfection!

This was a very simple card to make, and was such fun seeing it come together!
My version of clean & simple, with a little flair!
