Inspired by Nature: How to Make Table Cards for Your Thanksgiving Feast

Hello and welcome to the blog! Shelly with you today, sharing a nature inspired project for your Thanksgiving table with Dew Drops and a beautiful Red Plaid Linen cardstock.

This project can be used for name cards at your dining table, or buffet cards to identify different dishes being served.

These cards are easy and fun and the possibilities for tailoring them to your decor or theme are endless.

What I used:

  • White cardstock cut to 4.25W x 5"H (score at 2.5")
  • Red Plaid/Stripe Cardstock (cut to 4"W x 2.25"H)
  • Dew Drops - "Getaway" Mix
  • Brown Ink
  • Cardstock Scraps:
    • White (cut to 1-1/2"H x 3"W)
    • kraft cardstock (cut just slightly smaller than white)
  • Twigs from my yard
  • Twine
  • Optional:  Machine Stitching

What I did:
  1. Cut, score and fold your white cardstock for base, ink edges with brown ink
  2. Cut Red Plaid Linen cardstock, machine stitch edges if desired
  3. Adhere Plaid cardstock piece to your white, folded cardstock base

      4. Break twigs into 5" pieces, tie two together with twine for each card
      5. Using a hot glue gun, attach twig bundles to bottom of each card (the twigs make a great weighted base to keep your cards standing)

      6. Cut your scrap cardstock to size, glue kraft on top of white
*note - I ran my kraft cardstock through printer to put names on my cards, if you have good  brush pen skills - hand write those cards for a personal touch
      7. Apply Dew Drops to name plates (I use Embellie Gellie to pick up and place my Dew Drops - so easy-peasy!)
      8. Adhere name plates to cards
      9. Apply additional Dew Drops
And finally, set an amazing table!  Thanks for stopping by the blog today - have a creative week.
