How To Make A Fun Flower Pin With Dew Drops Accents

Hello there!
Welcome to the Chattering Robin's blog.

Michelle here today to share an easy, fun and very cute
flower pin project tutorial, using Dew Drops from
The robin's Nest, for center accents.

For this project you will need:

 Metallic Thread
Sewing Needle
Pin Backs
Dew Drops

I have a pair of very loved flannel pj bottoms, that were my favorites.
Not ready to part with them, I decided to epicycle the fabric.
I love flowers and flower pins are the right accessory at any given time.

I first determined the type of flower. I kind of wanted shabby/distressed flower pins, that could be dressed up or dressed down.

For my fabric base flowers, I cut various sizes of circles, tracing a lid for the largest, using a stencil for the smaller circles.

Because I wanted a hint of shabby, I cut floral lace into circles as well.
I frayed the edges of the flannel circles for the distressed look.

Alternating sizes from largest to small, and layering the flannel and lace layers too, I used a metallic thread to sew the
layers together. I also cut a felt circle for the pin base, and sewed it to the fabric base.

Once I had sewn all together, I also sewed loops with the metallic thread to the felt base, for a bit of glitz.

I then added glue to the pin back, and put in place on the felt.
Once the glue had cured, I used small dollops of glue using a No-Clog Writing Cap from ScraPerfect, to the smallest fabric center, and placed selected
Robin's Nest Dew Drops from the Orchid & Water Collections to the center, using Embellie Gellie from ScraPerfect as well.

The entire project, took less than 30 minutes to make, and needed limited supplies and experience to put together.

And the results, just darling.
