How To Make A Dazzling Summer Bag Made With Dew Drops

Hello Crafty Friends!
Welcome to the Chattering Robin's blog.

Michelle here with you today to share a really easy way to
add personality to any canvas style tote, using a beautiful array
of colorful Dew Drops from The Robin's Nest.

To make this project you will need:
Canvas Tote
Design Pattern
Piercing Tool
Scissors
Mixed Media Glue
Marker
"Pick Up" Tool

From The Robin's Nest:
Various shapes, sizes & colors of
Dew Drops

I had been given one of those "free with purchase"
canvas totes, with blue and white stripes,
which has me thinking to days at the beach.
What more fitting, than a bag to tuck sunglasses, sunscreen a book and even a light snack for a day at the beach?

So I decided to use a Sea Turtle pattern,
to create some dazzle for the surface of this bag.
I first printed out the pattern, found at Silhouette Design Store.
I then used a beading awl to punch holes in the design pattern.

Rather than use every single hole in the design, I used a marker to add marks to to the fabric, through the pierced holes, at about every third hole, just to get the basic shape of the design, keeping it simple, than it being to busy.

I used a clear mixed media glue, and the Embellie Gellie from ScraPerfect, to place the chosen Dew Drops into place, according to the outline I had created.

And within an hour, I had this FABULOUS canvas bag, perfect for any beach vacation.
So very easy, and such a fun design.
