Dream Big canvas

Hello everyone! Thanks for viewing the Chattering Robins blog today!
My name is Jenn and today I am sharing my first post using the amazing dew drops from the Robin's Nest!

I am an avid art journaler and I decided to try applying my journaling style and techniques to a canvas resulting in this adorable little wall hanging!
The Dew Drops from The Robin's Nest are a great way to not only add color and sparkle, but also subtle texture to your projects.

To begin, I started creating the background onto a canvas 5" X 7". Applying white gesso first and allowing to dry ensures a nice surface for paint and other mediums.

Add stamping and let the ink dry or dry with a heat tool. I used a script stamp and a butterfly with black archival ink.
Next, add bright color palette using several ink sprays. Spritz with water and tilt canvas to allow it to run and mix. I added a pinch of salt and dried my color with a heat tool to get the above result. Add some splatters of the colors used and dry.
Using a stencil with water creates this lovely shadow effect.

Using the same stencil with embossing ink and embossing powder adds even more texture.
Finally, lay out your embellishments and once they are all where you like them use adhesive or matte gel to adhere them to the canvas. (I later painted my frame and changed things around a bit to differ from this picture)

The Dew Drops are an amazing embellishment that adds so much to the design!
For this project, I used the following Robin's Nest Dew Drops

Thanks so much for viewing my post today!
