Hello Crafty Friends!
Welcome to the Chattering Robin's blog.
Michelle here with you today, to share my latest
project using a variety of Robin's Nest Dew Drops & Diamonds
to create a beautiful autumn color themed canvas.
The canvas I chose to use in this project is a 6x6 "chunky" canvas.
It is the perfect size to use on a shelf of even hung on the wall
in a group art collection.
Here in the Ohio valley, this time of year is usually filled
with bold orange, vibrant yellows & green, and a gorgeous scarlet red in the tree's.
This year, not so much, as we have had warmer than the norm in temps, and much more rain.
This project was inspired by fall's of the past.
This project will work with medium to larger canvas as well, the choice is yours.
I always purchase the pre-gessoed canvas. only adding additional
gesso if I am using "wetter" mediums in my design.
I used ochre' & gold colored paints over the entire canvas,
leaving the front center much lighter to give a highlight illusion.
Once my paint had dried throughly, I used archival ink with mini stamps
to add some interest to the background.
I chose a tree silhouette from my die cutting machine library, and used the GORGEOUS
Robin's Nest Copper Glitter Cardstock.
Once cut, I used ScraPerfect's Best Glue Ever to adhere the tree to the canvas.
I then used Robin's Nest Tear Drops in Dark Green from the Christmas Tree collection, an Orange color from the Fall Foliage collection, a Citrine color from the Gum Drops collection, and a Red diamond from the Ace Of Diamonds, Diamond Dew Drop collection.
And in no direct pattern other than trying to alternate the colors a bit, I added the Dew Drops to the tree, once again using ScraPerfect's BGE & Embellie Gellie to apply the Dew Drops.
So if you too are wanting to capture your favorite foliage colors, whether it be winter, spring, summer or like me the glorious colors of autumn, grab a canvas and order some Dew Drops and more, and you too can have a beautiful piece of art!
