How To Create A Lovely Bottle With Dew Drops

Welcome to Chattering Robin's blog, Michelle here with you today to share a very simple, yet "blingish" up cycling project using one of my favorite Robin's Nest Mini Dew Drop collection, Riverside.

These beautiful morsels of color work with ANY project, from cards, scrapbook layouts, even jewelry and home decor. Which is why they are absolutely perfect for this upcycle project.

We have a neighbor that is a "picker" and anytime he comes across unique items, including older or vintage bottles, he brings them to me. And my absolute favorite flower is hydrangea's. They come in such a variety of color, with most having 2 colors per bloom.
I had found these lovely felt hydrangea's at Michaels, and wanted to add them to my craft space decor. So, I just happened to have the right size bottle for them.

My dilemma was how to decorate the bottle, without taking away from these beautiful blooms I had found.

So, I turned to the Riverside Mini Dew Drops, glitter, double sided tape & mixed media glue, to add just the right amount of that "something" to this plain bottle.

To begin, I used 1/4-inch double sided tape, and my ScraPerfect Embellie Gellie to add 3 rows of dew drops, alternating the colors featured in the Riverside collection. Once I had the dew drops in place, I sprinkled an iridescent ultra fine glitter, to cover the exposed tape without dewdrops.

I also used my mixed media glue, to randomly add the dew drops over the body of the vase. To finish, I added flat back pearl trim to the top of the bottle, and acryllic gems to the inside of the bottle to keep the hydrangea stem stable.

Voila! Now I have the perfect accessory to display these beautiful felt hydrangea blooms.
