Austrian Fortress

Hello Robin's Nest Readers!

Today I am sharing a double page layout from a castle we visited
in Austria.  My aunt lives close to the Austrian border,
and we asked if there were other places to go visit
besides the ones that were close to her house.  Our cousin
Klaus took us to this castle in a town just over the
Austrian border.

I decided to use this Mocha Swirl Glitter Cardstock as the background paper.
It tends to be a little busy, so I needed to tone it down with
a less busy paper.  So I used the Saffron Sunrise Chevron with the
grey dot on the back side of the paper.
I also brought in a fall color to bring a touch of color to the page.

The touch of light rust is what I chose, Not sure why, I just liked it.
So that is in the flowers

Becca the Angel

Hello Robin's Nest Readers!

I so love to have our grandma picture taking days.
We spend the whole day dressing up and taking
photos.  Here are some photos of her in my
wedding dress (was I that small at one time?)
and angel wings with a fluffy halo.

Becca used to hate having her picture taken, and to
get her to smile was brutal!
Here you can tell that we are over that.
She has the most beautiful smile, and I love to
see it come freely!

Becca is now 12, and such a cute girl.
I am such a biased Grandma!

For this layout I wanted to use black and silver, so Becca's photo could
stand out better on the dark background.
I also love to use old book pages on layout,
and writing.

The silver stamped cardstock is retired, and the angel stickers are

page also that is from my stash.

I also used Gypsy Soul Die cuts on this page.
Love her work!!!

A Guide on how to make easy teabag folded flowers

Today I am going to give you a guide on  how to make an easy teabag folded flowers.

There may seem like there is a lot of steps to this tutorial but once you make one you will have the skill forever and I wanted to make sure it was easy to follow.

I used the following products from Robins Nest

Blue Robin Glitter Cardstock - Reverse side (Distressed Ocean)

I start by cutting my paper into 4" squares. From a 12" x 12" piece you will get 9 squares. We need 8 of them for petals and the remaining will be used for added decoration.

Fold the square diagonally in both directions, making sure to be as neat as possible for a cleaner finished petal.

Now fold the square in half in both directions, it should now look like the picture below.

Fold to create a  triangle point facing you as shown below

Now you need to tuck the right hand point inwards as shown below

Do the same with the left hand side, it should now look like this

Flatten it and give all the folds a good rub with a bone folder/Popsicle stick/finger nail

Turn the paper so the open ends point away from you and lift the top flap on the right hand side in and fold towards the centre.

Now do the same with the left hand side, it looks a bit like a kite.

Repeat this for all 8 of the petals. Now we need to put the flower together as shown below. I work in a clockwise direction adhering a petal beneath the kite shape flap but above the base of the fold as shown below, I use a little glue to hold this in place.

Once all 8 petals have been placed this is what it should look like

I then die cut a small stitched circle and adhered it to the brown doillie die cut

I then add this to the centre of the flower and layer the flower on to a piece of 5.5" square Brown rope paper.

I added this to the front of a 6x6" white card blank and added a dew drop to each corner to finish the look.

All that was left to do was add a sentiment to the front

This is a very sophisticated card but you could add the flower to a gift box or on top of a wrapped present if you wanted.

Flowers for my baby boys!

Hi my dear Friends,
It's Angela today to show you a beautiful Robin's Nest flowers paper for a boy scrapbook layout.
Yes, because who says that flowers paper has to be for a girly page only?

Ciao amici cari,

Picture Perfect Layout The Robin's Nest

The delicate blue of the flowers of this paper fits perfectly my sweet little boys picture. And it fits my boy shirt too!!

Picture Perfect Layout The Robin's Nest

I decided to try my new Silhouette Cameo and I downloaded this fun title from PaperIssue.
I cut it from a white piece of cardstock, then I colored it with watercolors.

A few embellisments here and there and of course my adorable, lovely Dew Drops. You know, I cannot consider a layout finished without them!

Picture Perfect Layout The Robin's Nest

I also framed part of the page with a dark blue paper to make the title pop.
To push the layout a step further, I drew all around the paper and the title too using a fine black liner.

I hope you like this page, let me know what you think and thanks for stopping by.

It's Fun To Feed The Little Baby Ducklings!

Tracy here today and I've got a layout about my granddaughter's class trip to feed the ducks. Aren't the little hats they made super cute!

Robin's Nest Products

I started with the Brown on Brown Glitter Cardstock for my background. I cut a circle out of the Bunny Cardstock and used the reverse side and cut down the Rubber Duckies Glitter Cardstock and rounded the corners.
I wanted to bring out some more of the colors of the photos so I decided to mat the photos using the Pink Glittered Leopard Cardstock.

Next, I cut some little duck feet on my Cricut and placed them along the top of the page right over the Rubber Duckies Glitter Cardstock.

And since there just wasn't enough bling with all the glittered cardstock I used, I decided to make a few small flower shapes using some of the Diamond Dew Drops and the Mini Dew Drops

Thanks for stopping by!

So sweet art journal page

Hello crafty friends,

Today, I would like to show you how to make a quick and simple page, in your Art Journal.

These papers are perfect for my project.

Two cute friends in a whimsical house

Products I used

Acrylic Paints, Texture Paste, Stencil, Black Ink Spray, Image from Pinterest, Page of an old book.

How to do

First, make your background with acrylic paints, here I chose 3 colors, I made large stripes with a brush an then some circles. I sprayed a few drops of black ink. When it was dry, I applied my texture paste with a circles stencil.

Cut a large stripe in the Rosy Diamond Cardstock and stick it at the bottom.
now, let's build a house with the Numbers Glitter Cardstock and a page of an old book for the roof.

Cut the steps and stick them.
All you have to do is add your title, a Diamond Drew Drop on the roof and your vintage image.

Easy and quick!!!

Thanks for stopping by today!
