Elegant Christmas Cards with Vellum

Hello Gals,
Vellum adds a classy touch to simple card designs. I chose a glitter splatter vellum but The Robin's Nest has a large selection of lovely patterned vellum.  It is especially effective to place pattern paper underneath vellum allowing for a subtle and muted image to appear.  I hear you say, "But how do I attach it so that the adhesive doesn't show through?" Well, the easiest way to attach vellum is to use brads or eyelets. Also, sewing or stapling are another option. I prefer to discretely add adhesive under another embellishment and use the design of the card as camouflage.  Let me show you how I made them.
Tear Drop Christmas Tree Card:

Robin's Nest Supplies: Vellum - Glitter Red Spatter, Green Glitter Chipboard, Red Snowflake Cardstock, River Bed Tear Drops, Robins Red Dew Drops, Red Alpha Glitter Stickers, Dew Dew Glue
Other Supplies: vellum adhesive (optional), card base 5x7" &5x5"

1. Cut a triangle shape from Green Glitter Cardstock.
2. Apply Green Tear Drops and Red Round Dew Drops randomly to cover the entire triangle.

3. Cut a strip of Red Snowflake Cardstock and attach to card base.
4. Cut a piece of Glitter Red Spatter Vellum slightly smaller than the card base and attach the vellum to the card base over the Snowflake Cardstock strip.

5. Adhere the Dew Drop Christmas tree to the right side of the card. Add a brown Tear Drop to the base of the tree to create the trunk.

6. Finally, use Red Alpha Glitter Stickers to complete the greeting.

Snowflake Vellum Card:
Robin's Nest Supplies: Rebellious Red Glitter Chipboard, Glitter Red Spatter Vellum, Red Alpha Glitter Stickers, Pearl Round Dew Drops, Pearl White Diamond Dew Drops, Dew Dew Glue

Other Supplies: acetate, brads, 4" snowflake, square bracket die 4.5" (Darice), craft knife, card base

1. Cut a bracket shape from the center of the front panel of a card base. Adhere a 4" silver snowflake to the inside of the card.

 2. Cut a piece of Red Glitter Spatter Vellum slightly smaller than the card base. Use brads to attach the vellum to the inside of the card covering the silver snowflake.

3. Attach a piece of acetate to the inside of the card front.
4. Use Red Glitter Alpha Stickers to apply a Christmas greeting to the acetate panel.   Finally, embellish with white pearl dew drops.
(Tip:  Place the letter stickers onto a piece of acetate to form the greeting.  This is only temporary and allows one try out different placements, as well as, to perfectly center the greeting.  This technique allows for flexibility without commitment and helps to avoid disappointment with misaligned letters.)
