Star Book with Robin's Nest Fleur!

Star Books make great gifts, coffee table books or center pieces on a table!  Once you make one of these you will be addicted!  I love making them with Robin' s Nest Cardstock since there are so many coordinating colors.  When I make a book I love to use a mix of pattern papers the are monochromatic patterns: Honeycomb Daisy Glitter CardstockHoneycomb Fleur Cardstock and
Tropicana Fleur Cardstock were a perfect combination for this book.  Also I like to use two sided papers since you can see the back of the paper in the finished book... Let's start!!!

Chipboard - 2 pieces 4" x 4"
About 30 inches of ribbon
Double-side tape
Glue stick

Honeycomb Daisy Glitter Cardstock 3 sheets
Honeycomb Fleur Cardstock 4 sheets
Tropicana Fleur Cardstock 3 sheets

The Robin's Nest Embellishments
Paris Fleur Glitter Chipboard
Time Flies Rub-on
Rosy Cards Ephemera

Cardstock Cutting instructions
3 sheets of Tropicana Fleur cut to 7 pieces 8" x 4"
3 sheets of Honeycomb Daisy Glitter cut to 7 pieces 6-1/2" x 4"
3 sheets of Honeycomb Fleur cut to 7 pieces 5-1/2" x 4"
1 sheet of Honeycomb Fleur cut to 2 pieces 5-1/2" x 5-1/2" to cover chipboard

Tip when using pattern paper that has any writing pay close attention to the direction the paper is facing before taping.

From one sheet of the Honeycomb Fleur cardstock cut to 2 pieces 5-1/2" x 5-1/2" this will be the cover of your book. Use glue stick to adhere your 5-1/2 x 5-1/2 pieces of patterned Honeycomb Fleur to your chipboard. Cut corners diagonally for an easier fold. Fold over and adhere each side to chipboard.

Cut your remaining pieces of Tropicana Fleur, Honeycomb Daisy Glitter and Honeycomb Fleur as stated above. You will have seven pieces of each size.

Fold all pieces exactly in half.

Starting with your 5-1/2 x 4" Tropicana Fleur cardstock, adhere double-sided tape to the back side, 4” side only. Line the edge of one of the taped one with one of the 6-1/2 x 3-1/2 Honeycomb Daisy Glitter cardstock (middle sized).

Repeat on the other side so that the Tropicana Fleur cardstock is adhered to the Honeycomb Daisy Glitter on both sides. They should gap a bit in the middle.

Repeat until all the Tropicana Fleur cardstock has been adhered to the Honeycomb Daisy Glitter cardstock in this manner.

Next, adhere double-sided tape to the back side the 4” edge of the Honeycomb Daisy Glitter cardstock . Try to place it as close to the edge as possible.

Line up the edge of the Honeycomb Daisy Glitter cardstock with the 4” edge of the Honeycomb Fleur cardstock. Do this on both sides. Repeat until all seven sections are finished.

You are now going to adhere all seven sections together, leaving the ends to attach to the covers. Place your double-sided tape on the outside of the Honeycomb Fleur cardstock as shown, right along that 4” edge as close to the edge as possible. Place the next section right on top of the adhesive being careful to make sure to line your edges up.

Note the sections are only adhered at edge of the cardstock and are not adhered in the center of the book.

Adhere the ribbon to the insides of your covers, leaving a gap of about a half inch to allow for the thickness of the book. Adhere the covers to each side of your star book so that the ribbon will be on the inside.

NOW Decorate the inside pages of your mini album adding photos and embellishments: Paris Fleur Glitter Chipboard, Time Flies Rub-on and Rosy Cards Ephemera.

Hope I have inspired you to make a monochromatic project with The Robin's Nest cardstock!
