Hello Friend Layout

This layout is about my good craft friend, Rachel.  Actually, she is the one who introduced me to cardmaking and then to scrapbooking a few years later. We've also collaborated on many sewing projects.  Notice all the little sewing embellishments I included on the layout. You may also notice the map and compass because unfortunately, she has moved away and we no longer craft together as we did 2-3 times per week. I'm so grateful that I met her because without her encouragement, I simply wouldn't be on this Design Team sharing this with you. She helped me be brave enough to apply to design teams and submit projects to magazines.  I couldn't have done it without her.

 A Closer Look:

TIP: To add a thin frame around your finished layout, apply coordinating washi tape to the edge of the paper. Attach the tape so that half of it is overhanging the edge and then simply fold it to the back side. Repeat on all four sides of the layout to create a neat and quick instant matting. You need at least 48" of washi tape.

Use a sponge applicator to make an ombre blend of
2. Place the inked paper into a floral embossing folder and run it through your machine.
3. Lightly rub a gold ink pad across the surface of the embossed paper to add highlights to the raised image.
4. Tear one edge to reveal the white core color and ink the edge with gold.
5. Finally, adhere dew drop gems to the center of the flowers.

The Strip

Hello crafty friends, Giorgia here.
Me and my husband love to travel, and we made some really great trip in the past years.
Today I have for you a multi photo layout about the glowing Las Vegas:

This is how I made my layout and some close up.

As first step I always gather all the possible supplies I will need: I decide the picture and then search coordinating papers, embellishments, stickers and so on and put them all together. It is a great way to wake up the creative flow!

As background for this layout I chose Sour Apple Glitter Cardstock. I cut a smaller piece of Saffron Honey cardstock, distressed it with scissor blade and placed it this way:

I created two little distressed strips from the backside of Saffron Honey cardstock and glued them:

I attach the top two pictures, leaving some space under the left one to add the clock rubon fromTime flies pack:

From the Teal glitter journaling I cut one of the tag in small pieces, to place them under the pictures in the centre:

I added all the pictures, then created the title using the amazing Alpha glitter stickers: you can choose from many colors, I decided for red and blue to match my pitures.

Here you can see a close up of the title:

I added die cuts and puffy stickers as embellishments:

Final touch: my beloved dew drops! You know how much I LOVE them, they always add an extra touch to each project! They come also in teardropsdiamond,butterfly and heart shapes... take a look!
In this layout I chose a metallic finish:

Mini Spring Topiary

Hello and Welcome!

Spring is just around the corner...and while we do not actually experience the 4 seasons here in Southern California, I associate the seasons with family gatherings and holidays.  Spring is a time to renew and today I am bringing you a fairly simply project that would add a great touch to your Easter, Mother's Day or family brunch table!

Let's do it!

2" Terra Cotta Potcat
3/16" Dowel Stick
Smooth Foam Balls in 2 sizes
Craft Moss
Ink pads (brown and black)
Die Cut Butterfly

  • Spray paint your terra cotta pot with a deep gray (to match Rosy Chevron paper) set aside
  • Using a hot glue gun, adhere craft moss to 1/2 of the small Smoothfoam ball and to the entire larger Smoothfoam ball
  • *tip there are MANY forms of craft moss at your big box craft stores - - choose a "flat" moss that comes in sheets - easy to work with!
  • Cut your dowel to 6", using a deep brown ink pad, rub color onto dowel - okay to leave some of the natural color showing through!
  • Die cut a large butterfly (I used the Stampin Up Thinlits Die) from the Rosy Chevron patterned pattern
  • Adhere 3 pearlized Dew Drops to body of butterfly
  • *design note - make it your own!  No butterfly die? How about a bird or other spring icon.  No die cutting machine?  Cut your own shape using a coloring book page as a pattern!
  • Cut strip of Rosy Chevron paper to fit rim of terra cotta pot and ink edges in black

Adhere Rosy Chevron strip to rim of pot
Using Dew Drop Glue, adhere clear Dew Drops in random polka dot pattern
Push dowel stick into small Smoothfoam ball through moss, apply a thin line of hot glue around ball and press into pot
Push larger moss covered ball onto top of dowel
Adhere butterfly die cut to top of "topiary"
Tie ribbon around dowel
Add just one clear Dew Drop on the base of moss

Think of how lovely a row of these on top of a strip of burlap running down the center of your Easter table would look - how about a group of 3 in different sizes...

Thanks for stopping by, hope you are inspired to create your own mini topiary!

Rainbow of flowers

Colleen here with a rainbow of flowers on this card.

I started with the beautiful Pink Glitter Crackle paper and used the back side of the paper.  I love it when the paper is double sided and we have twice the opportunity to make something gorgeous.  I used a Spellbinder embossing folder and then sanded over the top.

The sanded just brings out the white that is just below the surface.

I used a Tim Holtz die and cut out a section and then turned it around so that I had a rectangle cut out.

I used the gray ribbon that comes in the package of Leafy Green Ribbon.  I added it to the top and bottom to hide the top of the die cut.

I then used several of my flower punches to cut out the flowers and to finish off the flowers I added different colors of the Mini Spring Dew Drops.  To finish the card I used a die to cut out the Happy Birthday.

There's never a bad time to create those Christmas and Winter pages

Hi Bev here today.... So I know it's February and Christmas is over but it usually takes me until about now to order or print all those fun Christmas photos. It's always fun to create Christmas and Winter pages using winter theme colors and papers, adding the feel of cold by choosing accents with a chilly feel to them. Blue is a color that denotes winter and things that are cold or icy, and the sparkle of glitter makes pages feel like snow and frost. With these things in mind, I pulled blue papers, vellum printed with snowflakes, and a Christmas border punch, along with some great family photos. The girls all have on warm, snugly sweaters on - even if my son doesn't....LOL.

1. This fun page started with a 12x12" background base which I broke into 2 sectors. The lower base was a great patterned print and the upper a solid blue cardstock. Over the cardstock however I added a clear/white glitter snowflake pattern piece of vellum.

2. To showcase the different sectors on this page I punched borders to separate and pop on the page. I chose to use one on the top, one through the centre where there was a paper change.. and only a partial piece that fit perfect when the photos were placed on the page.

3. The photo above shows the punched borders, the fun vellum sparkles paper and the fun snow, frigid, Winter title section. Also aren't the cute diamond dew drop snowflakes perfect?

4. This section showcases the fabulous fun doily which has a rubon santa and is backed with the sparkle loops of straw.

5. After placing the photos, custom-fit the last punched border (trim as needed) and add the matted 'Family Christmas', centered below the photo at the right.

6. Just remember when adding finishing touches to Christmas pages.. that anything with sparkle is a perfect fit.

Thanks for stopping by. I enjoyed sharing with you. If you like my style and want to see more please visit my blog where I share lots of different pages with family and friends.
