Dreaming of Summer Flowers

Summer is having a little trouble starting in the south right now. I thought I could create some of my own summer by making these pretty flowers.

If you have ventured into any craft store lately I know that you have seen these flowers for sale.  I purchased a new tool will allow me to make these for myself. The curvy cutter spiral maker by ek tools® is simple to use and will have your house full of flowers in no time!

Robin's Nest Supplies
Original Dew Drops
Tulip Wheels Cardstock
Water Glitter Swirl Cardstock
Plum Fluer Cardstock
Moss Green Glitter Cardstock

After cutting the spiral, use a pair of tweezers and roll up tightly. NOTE: You can open the roll as much as you want when done to create a loose flower.

I created a summer background on a small vertical canvas to add my flowers to. NOTE: I think that using two sided cardstock works the best for the flowers.

I used handmade paper for the stems and lower grass. For the stems I rolled the paper and then twisted it so that I could manipulate it more. Cut out leaves from cardstock and attach them to the stems.

I used dew drops and flower stamina in the center of each flower. Lastly I painted a bird and added a dream sticker in the sky.

I hope you enjoyed my tutorial for making these summer flowers with The Robin's Nest® cardstock.

Sadly this will be my last tutorial for The Robin's Nest.  I have been asked to join DecoArt as a blogger and outside artist. A big thank you to The Robin's Nest owners and the creative team of designers I can now call my friends.

You can still follow my creative journey over at My Altered life blog and My Altered Life on FB.

Now go create something amazing!
