Welcome to the
Chattering Robin's blog,
Michelle here to share my latest project for
The Robin's Nest.
My project this week, is inspired by the
unseasonable spring like weather
we are having here in Southwestern Ohio,
and it is still February.
But it definitely has me looking forward
to pretty springs blooms full of color.
So, this is my "Spring Fling Top Hat",
created with exclusive Robin's Nest
cardstock & embellishments.
I chose the GORGEOUS
Spring Flowers Glitter Cardstock
Spring Stripe Glitter Cardstock as my top hat base.
Once assembled, I applied pink lace to the underside of the brim, and to the very top of the hat, followed by a wavy brocade trim around the side of the top of the hat, and delicate lace for the brim trim.
For the base of the hat, I used a wide floral lace, that delicately lay on the brim as well as at the base of the hat shaft.
Because the cardstock is so colorful,
I used a variety of coordinating paper flowers,
and vintage seam binding in pink, and glittered pink tulle
for added flair.
White feathers, and clay embellishments
from my personal supplies, were also used.
To complete the look of the shaft, I used TRN Mini Dew Drops,
also in a variety of colors, on flowers cut from the base lace,
using Scraperfect Best Glue Ever
and randomly placed on the hat shaft, as well as Butterfly Dew Drops.
The final finishing touches, were adding Dew Drop Tears,
and Dew Drop Mini's to the very top of the hat, for that little bit of extra.
