Hello, My name is Karen and this is my first post for The Robin's Nest. I hope to share lots of inspiring projects with you over the coming months. My first project is a Valentine's Day Home Decor Sign. I embellished a pre-made sign with Robin's Nest Dew Drops & paper. My project features, Heart Dew Drops, Diamond Dew Drops, as well as, Round Dew Drops.

Valentine's Day Home Decor Project: Love Sign

A Closer Look:
Here are the supplies.
Robin's Nest Supplies: Valentine Hearts Cardstock, Round Dew Drops, Dew Dew Glue, Diamond Dew Drops, Rosy Flower Die Cuts, Hearts Dew Drops
Other Supplies: wooden or paper mache shape, red glitter, double sided tape, black acrylic paint, foam brush, photograph

Directions:
1. Use a foam brush to apply an even coat of black acrylic paint to the base shape & set aside to dry.
2. Cut a heart out of the Valentine Hearts cardstock.
3. Adhere a border of Round Dew Drops to the edge of the heart with Dew Dew Glue Spots.
4. Attach the heart to the sign using double sided tape.
5. Adhere a column of five Diamond Dew Drops vertically down the center of the letters "L" & "E"
6. Adhere a Heart Dew Drop at the top and bottom of the columns of Diamond Dew Drops.
7. While holding a paper flower in the palm of your hand, use the end of a pen to gently depress the center of the flower so that the petals fold inward and the flower becomes more dimensional. Use the side of the pen and gently roll the petals to curve them to create a more natural appearance. Repeat the process with a second smaller paper flower. Adhere the two flowers together, attach a Dew Drop to the center of the flower, and attach it to the base shape.
8. Attach a photo to the back side of the base shape with double sided tape.

friends visit us in Florida

Hi...Bev here today. I am sharing a memory of my scrappy friends girls from 2015 when they came for a visit to Florida traveling from Alabama to stay with us. We always have a great time.

This page is created using Robin's Nest Collections.

Supply List:
Robin's Nest Products:
Accents: Diamond Dew Drops, Doillies, red dbl heart, Red alpha, Rose journal card
Other: stickers, punch, stencil, modeling paste, pen

Here is the Stuck Sketch I used for inspiration.

Here is the Challenge Yourself #25 inspiration used to create my page... using a photo of the girls and myself and one with Kenny too.

This close up gives you a great view of all the great paper layers. Choose your papers to use. decide which is the base and then lay out the layers of prints, colour that you want to use. Punch, some,  cut into ring circle and  just layers others in borders. Pull a mix of accents you want to use with a couple extra too. Some will be used alone and some will be used in clusters. Doilies are sliced in half to split on the page and dew drops are fanned around the ring circle. Since I am using the sketch I create layers and follow the shapes from the sketch.  When the basics are in place then play with the accents until they compliment the page. I added some stickers and rubons and used the great alpha stickers for the title.

Trending today are the boarders, small clusters in corners and open space between sometimes with stenciled  texturing. Mine is very faint but I used modeling paste to stencil on the background.

Thanks for joining us today.. do come back often to view all DT creations and hope they inspire you too.

Music CD case "Love"

Hello everyone!

Today I'm gonna show you a music CD case, ideal for small gifts to friends!

To begin I've crafted a small cover with a white cardboard. Then I've picked some of my favourite cards by Robin's Nest and I cut them to decorte it. Each square of cardboard has been stained with brown ink and then sewn on the cards. I've created a fastening with punches, ribbon and brad, and finally I made embellishments by using stickers.

The procedure is very simple, as you can see, so I hope you all will try to create it all!

Keep on creating! Mel
