Winter wonderland glistens and glows

Sure, I love the presents and the spirituality of Christmas, but being the unique soul that I am, I also love the rich color palettes and wonderful graphics that the holiday season offers.

I'm Betsy Skagen of Paper Calliope and my Winter Wonderland tag reminds me of some of the glowing colors of the Northern Lights on a crisp winter night.

Tutorial How to Make the Winter Wonderland Tag

Step 1: Cut a piece of Silver Glitter Cardstock to fit a manilla tag and adhere to tag.

Step 2: Apply soft gel medium (gloss) onto one the tag through a dots stencil. Let dry.
.

Step 3: Cover the chipboard snowflake with a couple coats of black gesso. Dry with heat gun.

Step 4: Apply soft gel medium (gloss) onto snowflake chipboard and randomly press Primary Elements onto it. Let dry.

Step 5: When the dots on the tag have thoroughly dried, randomly apply Primary Elements to the tag.

Step 6: Use a damp paper towel to blend the colors onto the tag and wipe the color away from the gloss dots (which will act as a resist and leave the paper white). Dry the tag with a heat gun.

Step 7: Adhere the snowflake to the tag.

Step 8: Paint a silver outline around the snowflake.

Step 9: Stamp an image of a deer using gel medium and Primary Elements onto glitter cardstock. Blend colors together with wet paintbrush. Dry with heat gun, then cut out deer image.

Step 10: Glue loops of the silver Azure Straw to the tag and adhere the deer image with three-dimensional foam adhesive.

Step 11: Add silver stars. Then finish your project by tying blue Azure Straw to the top of the tag.
