Follow Your Heart

Hi! It's Ro again with another project featuring the Wild About You Collection.  I really do love these papers. And I really love working with them. But I have to be honest. Sometimes our projects are not what we envisioned in our heads. This is one of them. But when I sought the opinion of others, I was told I was crazy and they loved this card. So I'm going to share it with you. I would love to hear your opinion on it...love it or hate it. I do love the paper and I do love the style of the card. Here it is:

It's a little wild and crazy...don't ya think?

Here are the basic instructions:

For the card: Cut two 12"x5½" cardstock pieces. On one piece, measure 2½" down from the upper left corner and mark it. Cut off the upper portion from that mark to the upper right corner. Repeat for the second cardstock piece. Place a cardstock piece horizontally and score vertically 2", 4", 6", 8", and 10" from the left end. Repeat with the second piece.

On one piece, measure 2¾" down from the top on the wide end and mark it. Measure 1¼" down from the top on the narrow end and mark it. Use a ruler to draw a line between the two. Repeat on the other piece. On one piece, begin at the upper angled edge and cut on the 2" score line just to the center drawn line. Cut on the 6" and the 10" scores to the line.

On the second piece, cut up from the bottom straight edge on the 2", 6", and 10" score lines, stopping at the line. Insert the 2" cuts of both pieces together, then insert the 6" and 10" cuts together. Gently crease the uncut score lines as you flatten the card.

When you put these together, it forms the base of the card. You can choose to decorate and embellish to your heart's content (pun intended).

If you would like more information on these cards, there are plenty of videos on You Tube on how to do them. Each one is slightly different, but the basics are all the same.

Below I have a list of the amazing papers used. The Wild About You Collection is on sale for 20% off for the entire month of January. Head over to the shop and pick some up for yourself!

Also, this month, we are enjoying the friendly sponsorship of Gina's Designs! Their laser-cut products are amazing. You will be very impressed with the detail.  Check them out!
