Flaming Hot Bookmarks!

For the last day of School, (June 11th) Dyllan and I always put together something for his classmates...stickers, pencils, a small toy...this year however, I thought to save the money and make  "Flaming Hot Bookmark"!
We used Mango Flame Thermal Icing and Clouds from The Robins Nest.
We cut out a basic surfboard shape and traced it onto the back side of the flame paper with a pencil, keeping the surfboards close to maximize as much of the paper as possible.

I love USA

 Hello girls The Robin's Nest

Although I do not know the United States is a country that I love.
And one day I will certainly walk in this wonderful country!!
This card is a small tribute to this country, the people who live there and the people who fight for it.
God bless America!!
This collection is gorgeous!!
It was a card with enough volume because it has muits layers.
Sorry because I could not find my camera and my phone camera is not very good.
Have a beautiful day!!

House Numbers and dew drops

Hello all,

Robin here.  I decided to do a project and dew drop my house numbers.  Now mind you, we took the numbers off our house 7 years ago and never put them back on because they don't match.  So as I was wanting to find a new and different project to blog, I was cleaning the laundry room, and found these on one of the shelves.

Mmm, I thought this is it, I will paint and dew drop my letters, and Dana can put them up on our house.  So I painted them with a rust colored paint.  I left the numbers white, but as I was painting, our little grand daughters arrived and I did not shut my scrapbook room door.  Well, they were a BIG help, haha, and I ended up painting the numbers white, because somehow, no one knows, they were rust!

Wedding Anniversary Layout

Hi! Gen here again to share another project with you guys :) In my blog, I shared my thoughts behind this very special layout --- my 10th wedding anniversary gift for husband. Yay! Thank You God!

I started my creative process by hand-cutting  the black and white damask cardstock from the Hot Flame collection, placed it on a white cardstock, added my photos and just went on and  had fun machine stitching, following the heart shape. While stitching, I visualized dewdrops to be floating on those stitched pattern... love the effect!

I thought, black and white and a little bit of gold (although it's not our 50th yet haha) so I made these handmade flowers by playing with my scissors this time. Cut lots of circles of black, kraft, olive green and gold, layered them, topped with sequins. Not just fun. It's also therapeutic :)

Then comes the journaling. I draw lines, wrote my thoughts with my trustworthy Sharpie pen.

Lastly, I splattered some black mist and added little paper accents here and there. I hope this also inspired you to play around and just have fun. Go machine stitch. Play with your scissors freely.Write your thoughts. Get dirty with a little bit of medium. Just enjoy!

By the way, I hope you check and follow my blog and if you do, kindly leave me a comment with your blog link so I can visit and follow your blog too! Hope we will be blogging buddies! :)

More with Middles

I was so happy with using a paper border print in the middle of a page, that I decided to try it again!  For the page below I cut the page at 6"  and glued it to the other end.  I cut my marquee shape with Cricut's Storybook cartridge and hand cut away a portion on one side to high light the great flames in The Robin's Nest paper!  I love the look of the Mango flame with the Plum Fleur!
To embellish the page I added a mix of flowers from Prima, Close to My Heart and die cuts with Dew Drop centers.  I kicked up the Want2Scrap black swirl bling with the addition of The Robin's Nest Diamond Dew Drops i the Abracadabra mix.  This mix is my favorite for Halloween projects!  And the title is made with K& Company letters with the year in stickers by the Robin's Nest.
Be sure to check out the Flame line at The Robin's Nest before the end of May!  It is 20% off through the end of the month!  And give The Robin's Nest beautiful border papers a chance to take front and center!

Altered Jewelry Holder

A couple of weeks ago, I stopped into my local Goodwill store to see if they had any summer skirts I could wear for summer. Not one skirt. Can you believe that? However, I did manage to find some cute summery tops and this jewelry holder. Because it had roses and my younger Sisters middle name is rose, I thought I would alter it and give it to her for Mothers Day. :)

A Hot Dad's Card

Mandi here with another card  that uses the flame collection and the Love Bug Creations rumple ribbon. This time it is for Father's Day.
Supplies:
Border punch
Star and circle punch
Correction tape
Sentiment stamp
Black ink
Brown Chalk ink
On the clock paper I gave it an aged look by rubbing my chalk ink  on the edges.
I gave the tag I cut out of the deer paper and distressed look by  applying the correction tape to the edges and scraping some of it off with a craft knife. I love the nice big bow.
To make the seal first punch a star out of the Chili flame paper than punched out your circle. Doing the star first let's you make sure that your star is center.
Hope you enjoyed today's card. Thanks to Love Bug Creations for teaming up with us this month and don't forget about the 20% off sale on the Hot Flame line.

Little Boy Blue

Some of the items we are featuring this month at The Robin's Nest are the new Special Delivery Baby sets.  I chose the Special Delivery Baby Boy set for my project.  I decided to do a one page, 8 x 8 layout and showcase it in a square frame.  I absolutely love the way it came out!

I used the following items in my post (click below to see the paper on the Robin's Nest website):

I started by distressing a piece of blue cardstock by sanding it and then adhering it to a piece of chipboard.  Next, I cut a rectangle out of the Rocking Horse Specialty Paper (no measuring, just a quick couple of cuts).   I cut various pieces from the Special Delivery Boy Paper and used distress ink to age them.  My cut pieces were all triangle type shapes (nothing exact).  I glued the Special Delivery paper (face down) to the underside of the opening in the Rocking Horse paper (wide end glued down).  I then used a few different trims I had in my stash to surround the opening, and then glued the smaller end of the Special Delivery pieces down around the trimmed out area.  I completed my layout by adding a "Little Treasure" tag  and then adhering the Rocking Horse portion to the solid cardstock  portion and then adding the piece as a whole to my frame.  I just love the colors and the way the frame gives it such a finished look.

In these last pictures I added a piece of scrap paper to show how you would just insert your photo and glue it down . . . or I was thinking about gluing a mini clothespin at the top of the opening so that you could even change out the photo.  What do you think?

Make sure to leave me a comment and let me know what you think.  Thanks for stopping by; make sure to hop over to the Robin's Nest Website to check out the New Baby Boy and Baby Girl Special Delivery sets.

By the way, take a look at the new Special Delivery Baby Boy and Baby Girl kits.    They are so cute and charming, you will want both kits.  I have made two more cards from the Baby Boy kit to share with you today.

We are also very pleased to be teaming up with Love Bug Creations this month, using some of their scrumptious rumple ribbons in our creations.  These ribbons are so fun to use, and the colors are absolutely gorgeous!

The first card I want to share with you today is using some of the new Hot Flame Line collection papers.  This card is made especially for a graduate, but you could certainly use it for any kind of special achievement that you would like to acknowledge.

Picture Frame Plaque

Good morning and welcome to another Robin's Nest post.  The papers they have are incredible and this month this Flames Collection is 20% off.  There is so much versatility.  Here is a plaque I was commissioned to make.  My business is picking up more and more and for that I am very thankful.  A coworker asked me to make something "Harley Davidson" for her bff.  I remembered these papers I had gotten from the Robin's Nest and knew exactly what I wanted to do for her.  This is how I started:
I started with one of my trays
and painted it black actually I had to do 3 coats.

#1 Hot Rod Dad!

This week I thought it would be fun to make a "Hot Rod" style card!
I stamped a truck image (from Stampin Up) onto white cardstock and colored it in with Spectrum Noir pens.  With a black pen, I added some flames. I trimmed out the truck and placed it on the card with the following from The Robins Nest:
For the cards corners, I ran  soda can sheets through my embossing folders and die machine.
Then I cut them into the corner shapes.

Thanks for coming by, have a great weekend!

Flaming Chili Peppers!

Hi Everyone,

As you drive along roads in Arizona, within nearly every mile, you can pull to the side of the road and buy a beautiful string of hot red chili peppers. Chili Flame Cardstocks are a perfect way to celebrate this Southwest tradition. This month, The Robin's Nest is bringing you amazing projects that showcase the Hot Flame Line. Take a break from your busy schedule and enjoy all the creativity.

Today's project uses Chili Flame CardstockChili Flame Border, and Rumple Ribbon from Lovebug Creations.

Supplies Used

The finished card is 5-1/2" x 5-1/2".  The card front is Ochre Classic Glitter Cardstock, matted with the solid side of Chili Flame Border.

I fussy cut the flame border and angled flames from each corner toward the center of the card.

A 3-1/4" square was cut from Chili Flame Cardstock - matted with Ochre Classic Glitter and the solid side of Chili Flame Border.  This was popped up in the center of the card.
I cut several small "chili pepper" shapes and covered them with different shades of glitter.  These are arranged on a Spellbinders die cut out of Ochre Classic Glitter.  The chili peppers were embellished with Sunflower Rumple Ribbon.  The ribbon is tied in a bow, with the ends sliced to resemble straw.

A few Winter Retreat Dew Drops finish off the card.  How ironic that "Winter Retreat" Dew Drops would make this card so hot!

Embellish your Home

Ever wonder if there are other things you can embellish in your home with Dew Drops?  I am always thinking, this could use a few dew drops, or that frame would be so cute with a few dew drops added to it.
I embellished my towel holder with dew drops!  This is inside my main floor bathroom by the kitchen.  I love fleur de lis, and so here it is, embellished with pearl dew drops.

So here it is, so cute!

I'd love to hear what you have embellished in your house, or what you want to embellish.
We will give a $15 gift certificate for one of the ideas posted on this blog post, tell your friends to make a comment on this post with your ideas on what you would or have embellished in your home.

Ciao,

Robin

On FIRE!!

This month, Robin's Nest is pairing up with Lovebug Creations...
and the result is some explosive ideas!

Stock up on the RN Flame Line ...it's 20% off all month long!

Today, I have 3 feisty cards to show you.
One great thing about each of them is that you can use small, long envies to mail them out.
(6 3/4 x 3 5/8 x 6 1/2)
You know...a box of 72 for a buck at the dollar store.
You know I'm talking your language!!
Then, go out and buy some Rumple Ribbon with the money you saved on envies!

Here is a mischievous slider card.  The inside card measures 3 x 5 inches.
I inserted large, white eyelets so that the Simply Grey Rumple Ribbon can easily slide up and down!

Check out the texture on these black flames...on Mango Flame papers!

View when pulled out!

Father's Day is just around the corner.
Do you have a guy who likes to grill?
These flames aren't just for devils and hogs!
All stamps for these cards can be found at Starving Artistamps!

Your starting paper is 3 x 12 inches.
For an easy to follow tutorial, just check out the one I posted a while back ON MY BLOG.

Rain drop Dew Drops are clear and come in a package of mixed sizes.
I think they are my latest "favorite" dew drop!!

Tag...who is next?
A small, tall tag card!
When folded, the card measures 6 x 3.5 inches.

Again...it will fit in one of those small envies too!
Just cut a triangle off...and slide in a tag.
I just think that the grey really contrasts well with the Mango Flame papers!

I looped my ribbon through this large, white eyelet again.
Note the awesome, awesome embossing!
Oh how I emboss all my images!!

For more ideas, run like your pants are on fire over to the Lovebug Creations Company Blog!
