Little Girl Photo Tin

Hello Tara here!  It's been awhile since I last posted and I am excited to share my project with you all today!  A lot has been going on around this O'Crowley home, my amazing husband left for a Army deployment back in January, with only a couple months notice.  I just had our 5th son on April 12th, yes you read correct 5th boy!!  We are both doing great, and he (Kade) is adorable!  So with that said, I never actually get to do much of anything feminine around here so I decided to make a girly project today.  This is a tin that I received some embellishments in from Stampin Up awhile back.  I hate to not make good use of such cute items.
I covered the front using Glitter Spring Flowers paper, using ribbon and the Chuckles tear drops for accents, I also added a cute paper flower I made adding a dew drop to the center of it.

On the inside I used Glitter Spring Stripe on the front inside and the back inside as well as an accent to some of the pictures.  I added some flowers using Midnight tear drops.  I used white cardstock cut 4 x 12 and folded it at 4 and 8 inches to create the background for placing my photos.

I used the Butterfly dew drops to accent the cute pages inside.

More cute butterflies...

Another shot of the inside 3 panels, showing the butterflies and the tear drop flowers.

This was a fun little project to do that I was able to put together nice and quick.  Hope this post finds you all doing well!  Until next time, take care!

Happy Crafting,
Tara

Sew Special Mini Paperbag album

Hi everyone! It's me Tonya!!! I hope your weekend has been wonderful. I'm here to share a fun little project I created for the Robin's Nest. But first can I ask you something? Can you keep a secret??? I hope you can cause I'm getting ready to share with you  a mini paper bag album I created for my mom for Mother's day using the Glitter Sobert Cardstock  collection which is on sale this month over on the Robin's Nest site
I want to brag on my mom for a minute. My mom is super talented in her own right.  Never had any type of art training...other than when I took a couple of folk art painting classes she asked me to show her what I learned. I do "ok" at painting. Well with what little I showed my mom she ran with it. She is a incredibly talented painter and crafter I might add.  :-)
Thanks for letting me brag on my mom and now back to my project. :-) I only used two little paperbags to create this little mini album and it is quick to make too.

Font Fanatic

This month The Robin's Nest is teaming up with Gel-a-tins.  I was sent an alphabet stamp set for my projects that I love, but what to do that was new?  I started thinking about all those alphabet paper laces that were so big a few years ago and one of my favorite design elements ever:  a circle.  So, I wondered how I could combine the two?  Here's my solution, and I have to say I am so pleased with the results!
Here is how I got this look:
1.  Cut a 7" circle in the middle of a white piece of card stock.  If you want a nice circular stamped image, this is key!  Ink the inside edge of circle with Versamark and use Teal You What embossing powder to emboss the circle.

2.  Layout a "test" version of your letter circle (see photo above).  I tried to vary the width of the letters around the circle.  So, this means you may need a wide letter on the sides and a high letter on the top, mixed with smaller letters in between.
3.  Once you are happy with the layout begin stamping your letters in Versa Mark ink.
4.  Use the Teal You What embossing powder and heat set.
5.  Fussy cut your letter circle using scissors and or Exacto Knife.
The chevron is a Close to My Heart Stamp.  The clock face is The Robin's Nest.  The label is cut with CCR basic shapes and the stickers are Basic Grey.  For the bling, I combined Want2Scrap with Diamond Dew Drops from The Robin's Nest.

Card Set

Today, I am going to share with you a card set with its own matching box. It features this month's special partner, Gel-A-Tins, and our month's special glitter sorbet cardstock.
 Supplies:
twine
inks
marker
embossing machine
embossing folder
spray mist

I heat embossed the flower center and stamped the sentiment in red ink. After the sentiment dried I wrote over in with a  pen tip marker for a shadow effect.
This card had mist splatters and a dew drop for the "o".
The blue banner is the reverse side of the Aquamarine paper which I embossed.
Here are the seals. It is a simple 1" circle with a stamped heart.
Did you notice anything that these cards had in common? They use the same papers and stamps. All this was created with just four sheets of paper with lots to spare.
Be sure to place your order for these great sorbet papers before April is over because that is when the 20% off sale is over.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Waves of Color

This month The Robin's Nest is featuring the Sorbet Glitter Collection which you can stock up on at a 20% discount until the end of the month.  I chose to work with the Blue Raspberry Sorbet Glitter Cardstock because I love the way it reminds me of waves!  I had some older pictures taken in Maui and this paper is perfect to showcase one of those photos.  I love the tone on tone aspect of this paper.

This layout was pretty clean and simple to put together.  After I cut my paper down to size, I scored the edges at 1/4 inch and 1/2 inch and dusted it with my black ink pad just to give it some definition on the edges.  I then matted my pictures with some scrap pieces I had from other projects.  After adding a couple of word tabs and a pineapple, I had a finished layout.  Because the paper has enough visual interest of its own, you don't have to over accessorize it to have a finished look.

What do you think?  Leave me a comment and let me know.  Don't forget to hop over to the Robin's Nest and pick up some of the Sorbet Glitter Cardstock while it's still on sale!

Sorbet Flavors..I mean Papers!

Remember...
The Sorbet Collection is on sale this month!

Check out the gorgeous rainbow of Sorbet flavors, I mean Papers...from The Robin's Nest!
Great little notebook for gum!

Easy Peasy...extra large nestie.
You could also cut out a shape from your electronic cutter.
Two folds make it into a "book."
Cut two slits in the binding to "hold the gum in" using Lovebug Ribbon.

I also used Removeable Glue Dots © to secure the gum.

Here is a card I made using Gel-a-tins stamps and Sorbet Papers.

Glitter Sorbet Cards

Hello from sunny Singapore! The papers we are assigned to play with this month is my most favorite of all! These Glitter Sorbet cardstock are so pretty, so versatile and so very easy to create with. Today, I'm gonna share with you three greeting cards that I made using these papers + 3 different dies. I used a white cardstock as my base cards to make the Sorbet colors (and the beautiful glitter details) stand out.

I cut the flower die and adhered to the page using pop-up adhesives. I then added chocolate brown accent and a single clear dew drop. It always amazes me how such tiny thing can give my cards that much needed ooomph :))

Enjoyed layering these pretty flowers on to the wheelbarrow die-cut.  And with those white dew drops, there's really not much to be done!

And here's a super fun pop-up card using this die. Who would not love to receive this card with a  "surprise" flower inside when I open it? :)

That's about it for now.. Hope you visit me in my blog :) Thank you very much and I wish to say CONGRATULATIONS to the winners of our bloghop!

Daisy barrettes anyone?

We received these fabulous Eastery colored cardstock in our packets.  I cannot get over how much I LOVE these papers.  I love all the glittery and sparkly that the Robin's Nest has in their paper.  Did you know all these papers are handglittered.  How do they do that?

First I selected these two wonderful papers and you can find them here
The glitter papers are so nummy looking.
I cut the daisies out using my cricut.  Then I needed to manipulate the papers a bit.  Using an old mousepad I laid the "flowers" on it upside down and used a maker to manipulate the paper by making circular motions on it.  You will "knock" off a little bit of the glitter, but not much to make a difference.  These papers really hold their glitz.  Then flip your flower over and do that same on the other side.  Now I needed the flowers to be double sided, but since the back of this cardstock is white I "mod podged" two flowers together.

Mixed Media Fun using Gel-A Tins!

Greetings TRN Fans!
I hope each of you are enjoying your weekend so far!
The dt team cross promotion this month, with Gel-A-Tins!
I decided to have fun and use a few stamps to create a Mixed Media LO!
The stamps I used are from the Doodle Garden collection!
First I splattered some Creative Inspirations blue paint on the background and added the circle swirl stamp, and tiny hearts randomly on the LO.
I then used the small leaf stamp on the left side of the LO and used the
Pink Of Me gelly powder by Gel-a-tins! I also used this color randomly on the heart stamps near the swirl circle stamp.
I have a close of the embossed leaves below!
The papers this month on sale at TRN are the Glittered Sorbet collection.
Gorgeous colors and lots of glitter!
They are on sale 20% off all month long!
After I added the sorbet glittered papers I used the gel-a-tin stamp on the Kiwi glitter and aquamarine glittered sorbet papers arrows!
Live, Love and laugh!

Here's the close up of the gelly powder I used to emboss the small leaf stamp. Pink Of Me color such a pretty light pink color.
Since the color is so light it hard to get a good close up of the stamp, sorry!

The colors of  the glittered sorbet papers I used are the following:
Aquamarine for the paper strip on the top left, shocking pink, red, and blue raspberry for the banner! The paper I used to mat the picture are Aquamarine and red. This is a picture of our daughter swinging at a park in the evening. That is why part of the picture is dark because a tree was shading the area where she was swinging.
I love the color variations in this photo! For the border strip under the picture I used Blue raspberry and Aquamarine.
I then added a curled strip of shocking pink glitter sorbet paper!
For the glitter letters I used from TRN Pink glitter stickers. To finish the LO I used the mini dew drops from the Pansies mini dew drop collection.
Thank you for visiting TRN blog today!
If you joined us for the Daisy Days Blog Hop check back here on Sunday to see if you are a winner?!
Have a wonderful weekend!

Butterflies and Roses - Sorbet & Gelly!

Hi Everyone,

This month, we are pleased to be featuring the Sorbet Glitter Collection. This cardstock collection is another classic beauty that is a must-have for every cardmaker and scrapbooker.

The Sorbet Glitter collection features five great colors that coordinate with each other. They are currently on sale for 20% off! The Robin's Nest Blog will be featuring these papers in all kinds of projects all month - enjoy the fabulous creations with Sorbet Glitter Cardstock.

We are also partnering with gel-a-tins - gel-a-tins are clear stamps that are soft and sticky like a gelly candy - packaged in a handy metal tin perfect for storing!  You'll find a wide assortment of letter and image stamps on their website, as well as ideas featuring Robin's Nest products on their blog.

The first card I designed for this week's post was made before I had my hot little hands on gel-a-tins.  This card features four of the five Sorbet colors - Aquamarine, Shocking Pink, Kiwi, and Blue Raspberry. This is a simple card, as you can see...another timesaver for those on the go! I first layered Shocking Pink Sorbet on top of Aquamarine Sorbet. For the top layer, I used two colors - Kiwi and Blue Raspberry. I wrapped the layers with some dollar-store ribbon, with a festive bow. For the top of the card, I cut two Shocking Pink pieces using Cuttlebug's Honeycomb Poppies die set. I topped the card off with a Aquamarine rose (with Kiwi Sorbet leaves). The rose is from the Bella Rose stamp set by Heartfelt Creations.

Unfortunately, the camera doesn't pick up all the great glittered detail on Sorbet Glitter cardstock....but the classic sorbet colors and the fanciful glittered detail make Sorbet Glitter cardstock a must have!

Supplies Used to Complete Rose card

Then I received my happy mail!  Since I think any card missing something can be made beautiful with a butterfly, I was delighted to receive gel-a-tins' Butterflies Are Free stamp set, along with Pink of Me gelly powder.  Already loving my rose card, I recreated it with a twist and replaced my rose with a couple butterflies in Pink of Me gelly.  Loving them!

Here is a close-up of the great butterflies - they are all fanciful - full of great detail!  Of course, they were just screaming to be embellished with Dew Drops!

You will love, love, love Sorbet Glitter Cardstock - be sure to check back to the Robin's Nest Blog every day for excellent ideas using this excellent product, as usual!  The posts are full of inspiration.  Be sure to also visit gel-a-tins for their grand inspiration using Robin's Nest products!  Enjoy!  Also enjoy 20% Off all colors of Sorbet Glitter Cardstock being featured this month!

Spring Card with The Robin's Nest and Gel-á-tins

Hello again, TRN fans, and welcome back to our blog.  I hope you are all beginning to see the signs of Spring wherever you live.  Here, in the mid-South, we had a fairly mild winter, so I fear we may have a HOT Summer awaiting us.  If you are needing a bit of Spring inspiration, however, I hope you will visit the Daisy Days blog hop, sponsored by The Robin's Nest.  There is still time to hop and leave a comment to enter the giveaways at each of the 18, yes, 18 blogs, and a grand prize from The Robin's Nest.    The odds are certainly in your favor to win, so I hope you will try to visit and have some fun with us.  All winners will be announced at The Chattering Robins blog on Sunday, April 21st.

There is still more news to tell you.  The Sorbet Glitter CS collection is still on sale this month at 20% off.  Also this month, we are teaming up with another wonderful company that I am sure your are familiar with, Gel-à-tins.  All of their stamp sets come in these cute metal tins for storage.  They also carry their own brand of embossing powders, some of which are scented.  Here are the products I get to play with.
This is a super duper easy card, and here is my finished piece.  I think this would make a wonderful Mother's Day card, don't you?  It is so Springy, and certainly feminine.

"Grab A Little Book Bling!!" The Robin Nest April DesignTeam Project

~Grab A Little "Book Bling"~

In as much as I love progress one thing that I am not happy with is the feeling that books will soon become obsolete. Dont get me wrong.. I  do have a kindle and just love it, but there is nothing like holding a book and making that connection with what I call "a gift" in your hands. I was brought up loving to go to the library and  as soon as my kids were old enough  I took them to the library every week and we stayed for story time as well! The time I spent with my kids reading to them was very special.. I would even include their names instead of the characters name and they would think that was hilarious!! So for this months design team project I decided to  create a very fun "spring bling" kind of bookmark and hope that you might at least  have several books you can tuck these beauties in the pages of and enjoy while reading your book!

While Waiting for the Garden

This months The Robin's Nest Sale:  Sorbet Paper Collection!
This months team up:  Gel-a-tins
Spring has been so slow to start this year and I have been anxious to see some flowers. So, I thought I might make some this Spring, while waiting for the garden. I started with beautiful paper from The Robin's Nest, gel-a-tin stamp, Cricut Cuts and scrapped another page for my heritage album.
For my trellis, I used the Cricut Ornament Iron cartridge and Cricut Craft Room to make a single gate into a trellis. I just copied the piece until I had four gates, and rotated 3 pieces 90 degrees until the center lines, became a grid. I hid some of the pieces that were too small and made my image uneven and love the look! I added a flourish to the corner and welded all the pieces. I cut it in black card stock and used foam tape to pop it off the page just a bit.  Below is a photo of the single gate, single swirl and the final trellis is on my page photo at the top of the post.  I have always wanted to try metal work, but I cannot afford another craft and love that I can design and cut faux iron on my Cricut!
For the rolled roses, I used The Robin's Nest Shocking Pink Glitter Sorbet, Red Glitter Sorbet and White Card stock (inked edges with pink ink) and and cut them using Close to My Heart Cricut Artiste cartridge. Since The Robin's Nest card stock has such great heavy quality, I use and ball tip roller on my flowers before rolling them.  This helps soften the paper for a great natural look.  To get these to dry quickly, I like to use a low temp glue gun.  Note that I used some mini dew drops for the centers of some of my roses (you see it in the center of the red rose below).  I also scattered a few Flame dew drops near the vine.
The vine is cut with The Robin's Nest Kiwi Glitter Sorbet Card stock with the Close to My Heart Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge. I wove the vine in and out of the trellis. Don't be afraid to clip this vine as needed to make it work! The clouds are Close To My Heart Artiste cartridge.  I love the cloud trend!
I wanted a subtle title, so I stamped it using gel-a-tins Teal You What embossing powder on white card stock.  It works so well with the Aqua Glitter Sorbet paper!  The title is stamped with gel-a-tins Laugh Out Loud Oversized Mix stamp set.  Here's a tip for those imperfect stamped images when using embossing powder. Stamp your image, and added embossing powder. Be sure to heat set your embossing powder FIRST. Then, fill in the missing areas with a Stampin' Up blending pen.  Can you see my white spot on the letter "e" below?
Sprinkle the embossing powder over the area just colored with the blending pen and heat set. Problem solved! The back ground paper is The Robin's Nest Aqua Marine Glitter Sorbet Card stock. I distressed the edges and added a few peak boo elements.  Be sure to check out the sale on the Glitter Sorbet paper!  The colors and sparkle are so fabulous!  No need for a coupon, paper is already discounted!
