~Beauty In Flight~

Dragonflies are a sort of Mantra for me, they stand for beauty and determination....   especially in flight.

Their wings hold such transparent and amazing colors.. and have you seen a dragonfly up close.. even their eyes are filled with vibrant colors! Just think if  we could hold that much  beautiful color in our lives and spread it around wherever we went!


 

 For this project I wanted something soft with pops of color and the Dew Drops  available at The Robins Nest are luscious drops of transparent color.. perfect for my project!

It is simple to create using Scrapbooking papers (my background uses several kinds of paper including the Robins Nest Glitter Card Stock ).

~Supplies~

The Robins Nest Dew Drops- blue and brown

Art Board- 5x7

Scrapbook colors and patterns of your choice

Glitter Glue

Modge Podge or similar

Acrylic Paints

Spray Inks

Stamps and  Sepia and Black Archival Ink (stamp pads)

Liquid Pearls

 15-20 8/0 seed beads in copper

1)To begin this project I tore several scrapbook papers and fit them on the board then applied the Mod Podge to secure down.

2) I then used  a sepia ink pad and dragonfly stamp to stamp the shape of the dragonfly , the branch of leaves and the word "journey" on the left side.

3) Use the glitter glue to draw the out line of the dragonfly and then start gluing down the Dew Drops

with the glitter glue.This way you see the glitter underneath the dew drops too!

4)While the glitter glue is still wet,apply the 8/0 seed beads in each corner and on the tail part.

5) For some of the finishing touches I created a little texture with  dotting the branches with liquid pearls,applied some acrylic paints and  ink sprays here and there to add a bit more color and stamped around the edges with a black ink floral stamp.

And here you have the finished project!
