More designers work from Scraps of Darkness

Let's meet more of the talented designers from Scraps of Darkness!

Jennifer Snyder

Jennifer wanted to capture the beauty of both sides of the Robins Nest papers. She used a combination of dry and wet distressing techniques along the the folds and finished it off with inking. Wanting to play up the strong stripe pattern found elsewhere on the layout, she again applied her distress work and then gently rolled the paper with her fingers to reveal the stripes. The Glitter Getaway Swirl paper was cut to provide the perfect accent under the folds.
Jennifer kept the florals and embellishments to a minimum so the beautiful delicate pattern of the paper would take center stage.

(Supplies:Robins Nest Paper: Robins Nest- Glitter Getaway Swirl, Ivy Trim, Green Olive Stripes, Dusty Attic Chipboard-Barbed Wire, Cream Cardstock,Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist-Olive Green, Webster Pages-County Estate Collection Journaling Cards, Kaisercraft Chanteuse Collection, Tim Holtz Distress Inks,Tim Holtz Distress Stains,  We R Memory Keepers-Crop-A-Dile II Big Bite., Bridal Netting)

A bold dramatic look was created for this layout pairing the Robin's Nest Stripes with the Fleur Green Olive. Jennifer wanted to bring the dark moodiness of the sky into the layout so she generously spritzed black ink on resist paper and dotted it here and there with distress inks to achieve the feel of the stormy sky. She placed the focus on the photo by framing around it with beautiful florals, leaves and butterflies.

(Supplies:Robins Nest Paper: Fleur Green Olive, Green Olive Stripe, BasicGrey - Oxford Collection, Heidi Swapp Iresistables paper, Dusty Attic Chipboard-picket fence, Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist-Olive Green,  Tim Holtz Distress Inks, Petaloo - Canterbury Collection - Roses - Lime,  Ranger Ink - Archival Ink - Jet Black, Pink Paislee - Mistables Collection - Journal Tags with Resist,Smooch - Spritz -  Black Velvet, Creations Bella Rose stamp and die set
)

Nancy Hanttula

Nancy created this layout as a gift for some friends who recently got married. Using The Robins Nest Olive Fleur paper as the background she then used the reverse striped side for the frame matting. The Green Stencil paper was used as the border strip along the bottom. The frame and flourishes were cut on the Cricut. The title was handwritten and Martha Stewarts Gothic Arch punch was used for added enhancement.

(Supplies: The Robins Nest Papers, Olive Fleur, Green Stencil, Cricut Cartridges- Lacy Labels, Lovely Floral, Websters Journal Tags, Cardstock- cream & brown, Versamagic chalk ink, Martha Stewart Gothic Arche border punch, Flowers- Prima, Petaloo, Kaisercraft, Misc-ribbon)
