Back to school time!

Can you believe it's almost that time again? It seems like the kids just got out of school for the summer. In honor of the new school year I wanted to do something related to it. I found this adorable little backpack bag on Splitcoaststampers created by Mary Arima and couldn't resist using the fabulous products from The Robin's Nest to create one. What better way to send your son or daughter off to school than to make one of these and add a special little note and gift or treat into the pockets.

The Glitter Fireworks paper reminded me of paint drips so I decided to use it for the main part of the backpack. The Red Sorbet Cardstock made a wonderful addition for the pocket and flap and of course it wouldn't be complete without some dew drops and tear drops to bling it out more. Then, what says more fun than this glittery "fun" word to add to it.

One thing that I love about this project is that by choosing different Robin's Nest papers, ribbons and Dew Drops you can personalize them for your son or daughter. Be sure to check out the Princess/Girls products for your girls or the Boys/Flames products for your boys as just a couple of ideas for great papers and embellishments that can be used for this. If you don't see anything in those categories there are tons of papers and items to choose from so take a look around The Robin's Nest site to see what you'd like to use.

If you'd like to make one to help start your child's (children's) school year off right you will find Mary's directions and templates here.

I love these backpacks! I make them for my teacher appreciation gifts, graduation gifts and care packages for college students. I have a SVG file to use with your cutter if you like at: http://cricutcraftyclare.blogspot.com/2010/06/grad-gift-back-pack-treat-box-converted.html
